| I worked for Detroit Business Consulting for a couple months. I was told i was going to get paid every Friday, then it turned into Mondays, maybe Tuesdays and if it was holiday you werent getting paid until the following day. at first my checks seemed normal, I got one every Friday, but then they started to be different amount. I confronted the owner, Mike Rosenberg about my problem and he said it was different amounts for taxes so I figured he was probably right. Then I started checking into it more, I noticed that the percentage of taxes taken out every week was always varying. After checking into my checks further I realized I wasn't getting paid for the over time I was working and I wasn't making the money i was promised. The position is door to door sales for Direct Energy, which is a total scam. The make their money and fooling their customers into thinking they're "updating" their services, instead they're signing them up with Direct Energy. It is a commission job, however they claim they offer a base salary, however, nobody in teh company has taken it. When I went on my second round interview (which was a full work day from 9-5) the person advised me to take the 100% commission bc i would make more money. I wasn't making shit, they give you $48 for every person you scam but for some reason, I was the one getting scammed in the end because my check would be $100 if that! They told me once I got into the "management" position I would run my own office, but I don't have a degree. Mike said that wouldn't be a problem. So he told me I would be making $500,000 a year like him in 2 years... but I wouldn't have a degree. They decorate the office super cool, with all different color painted walls and they blast loud music to make the company sound like it's fun. All the girls wore super cute shoes and were very stylish and the guys were good looking too! This made me wanna work there bc it "seemed" so cool. But if it's too good to be true, it probably is. They also DO NOT hire anyone who is fat, from Detroit, ugly, or old. They call people they arent going to hire 110's for some reason and they'll make fun of the people right before they take them into an interview. They're also ALWAYS hiring, even though the girl on the phone, Elizabeth, pretends like they're "wrapping up their interview process" it's all lies. They're always hiring for door to door sales people but pretend like its an account manager position, its complete bullshit. If you dont believe any of this call Elizabeth at 2485241310 and i bet she denies every, but won't actually answer your question with a yes or no, theyre good at doing that. They will answer your question with another question directed to you to change the subject. Good luck and BEWARE! |

This account is totally accurate as told to me by one of my tax clients. I am in the process of contacting the local news stations and the Department of Labor as well as creating my own webpage that will out rank their false postings across the internet.

| An utterly miserable job. This company is literally a giant scam. I was told I would be getting a job in marketing, advertising, and sales. My job consisted of me going door-to-door selling junk to any and all people who happened to be inside the buildings I was assigned to. I was literally taught by this company to be a good bullshitter and pretend to be friends with people and then convince them they need your product. The company's philosophy is based on the presumption that the general public is stupid. I have no clue how this place got voted "5th best place to work in Metro Detroit". It is a huge scam and an even bigger lie. Like stated above by someone else, the office seems pretty cool because of how it is decorated and the louder music, as well as everyone working there between the ages of 21-30. I am telling you, stay away from this place, you will be absolutely miserable. I am a recent college graduate and I am disgusted with this "company". They have no problem scamming their customers or scamming you. |
