Dell Perks
Dell Perks Dell OOs Failure to acknowledge purchase made and give timely credit Internet
9th of May, 2011 by User890711
I followed the instructions given by Dell OOs and purchased a $50.00 "credit" for $25.00 on December 24, 2010. I went through their website to make my purchase at Lowe's, which was confirmed on March 21, 2011. I had planned to return one of the items I purchased in exchange for other merchandise, but the hoops I would have had to jump through for Dell are as follows per their email to me: To keep your rebate, please do the following when making your exchange: 1) Return the item(s) to the merchant that you wish to exchange/return. 2) Make a replacement order that meets the requirements of the OO (gift cards and gift certificates are not eligible for this OO) by clicking through to the merchant's site via the "Shop Now" link for a regular offer with the OO merchant on our site. Note: Please ensure that when the replacement order is combined with what you kept (if anything) from your inital order, that it meets or exceeds the required spend amount for the OO before taxes and shipping are applied. 3) After you receive your complete order, please send us the following information via the "Contact Us" links provided within the site (and be sure to reference this email in your message): Merchant:
Order #:
Purchase Date:
Ship Date (if available):
Item/Qty/Desc/Price:
Subtotal (before shipping and tax):
Shipping:
Tax:
Total: Once we receive this information, we will escalate to our OO Team and they will process the rebate as long as the terms of the OO have been met. These additional requirements made it not worth the trouble to return the unwanted product and to purchase another one in its place due to the added travel and time expense and inconvenience. I'm not sure why I couldn't just have exchanged the items and had it confirmed just as the original purchase had been. I've been waiting for my $50.00 "credit" to appear in my checking account but it hasn't. I wrote Dell approximately a week ago (May 4, 2011), inquiring as to where my "credit" was. I have had no response from them, either by email or in my bank account. I will never, ever use Dell OOs again. The "savings" isn't worth everything the customer has to go through to "earn" it. The time I've spent trying to get my "credit" back has cost me more than the "credit".
