Stole money from my bank account after debts were paid off |

This company is a complete SCAM!! I paid off my debts to two different creditors through Debt Free as of February, 2011. After adding up the settlement amounts and the 15% they take as their commission, they charged me well over $1,000 that did not go towards my debt settlement. I received a letter from them stating that as of February I had completed my debt settlement program and did not owe anymore money. Then, in late March, Jenny N. of Debt Free After All contacted me through email informing me that I still had a balance of $784 that needed to be paid to a creditor or the account would be voided. It seemed fishy to me so I contacted the credit card company to find out if this was a legitimate debt. It of course was NOT, my account had been settled and I had a $0 balance. Jenny N. was persistant in trying to reach me for authorization to withdraw $784 from my bank account for this "final payment." I did not respond and a few weeks later, Debt Free withdrew $300 from my bank account without my permission!! I immediately went to my bank to sign an affidavit of forgery against them and am in the process of having the charge reversed. I then emailed Jenny N. to inform her of the dispute and told her they did not have my permission to withdraw any funds from my account. She responded by saying I was aware of the last payment because she had made many attempts to contact me. She maintained that I still have a balance due of $484 and if it's not paid that the account will be void and I will owe the creditors $5,000!!! My settlement amount was only $2,400 so where does $5,000 come from? You can never reach anyone by phone at Debt Free and when you do they screen the calls. Also, they never give last names and do everything by e-mail. I read many other complaints about this company, one client even said the police went to their so-called address and there was no company called Debt Free After All there. This is really scary because these people have my Social Security # and my banking info! I'm now going to have to close my account and start from scratch. I just wanted to fix my credit and now I have an even bigger weight on my shoulders because of Debt Free After All, they are scam artists! BEWARE!!! |

This is NOT TRUE...This client closed all credit cards with debt free and promised to pay the fee later ...she then backed out on her words after paying the last payment on the credit cards. When debt free had to collect the fee she refused to pay the company after using this company's efforts for 3 years and taking her cards out of critical status . She wanted free service and not a single word is true here. |
