On Saturday November 13th 2010 my business partner and I went to Byers to meet Debbie Stoney-Frampton to look at a pregnant mare and 6 month old stud colt who we were told and i quote. "This mare is sound in everyway!" she also said that the mare was guaranteed in foal. With reservations we purchased the mare and stud colt with the contingency that if they did not pass a vet check that the money would be returned and the horses would go back. We made her sign an agreement that stated that she was selling her mare free of any lameness or health issues.
My business partner and I were uneasy with her condition however we decided to take the mare home. Upon arriving home we blanketed the mare and tried to get the bott eggs off of her legs. (its obvious that Debbie doesn't know how to feed or care for horses at all.) The mare was thin and malnourished however we thought that her condition would improve with some TLC.
On Tuesday November 16th we had a shoer come out to trim the mares unruly broken hooves. He commented on her poor condition (the mare also had stress rings on her hooves probably caused from lack of nutrition.) This is especially comically because Debbie said in another scam report and I quote " Jacki also writes "she's also been known of neglecting her horses and have had many reports filed on her." This is NOT AT ALL TRUE.....I (Debbie Frampton) have NEVER had any reports filed on me of neglect to my horses or any horses in my care. My horses are taken the up most care of, the best feed and care I can provide for them. " end quote. THIS IS NOT TURE THE MARE NEEDED AT LEAST 250 LBS PUT ON HER. This was also was supported by our vet.
Even though all of this is horrible what the vet said next shocked us. THE MARE WAS NOT PREGNANT and she WAS CLASS A LAME! the vet thinks she either has a broken pelvis or perhaps a neurological problem in her back end. The mare could hardly trot on a lunge line and I quote from the vet "she doesn't have any idea where her back end is." he said that I "shouldn't ride her because she might fall over on me"
BUT WAIT!!! THERE MORE! After the vet inspection I called Debbie and let her know the results of the vet check my business partner and I STOPPED the payment and told her that she needed to meet us halfway to return the horses or that she needed to pay half of the transport fees. She refused to do either instead she stated that it "wasn't her responsibility" She also ranted and raved at us that she "rolled her truck and trailer" and could not meet us. This sounds like another scam report that said that she was "stuck in Texas" or "in the Hospital.
This woman should be thrown in jail. She is a fraud, a liar, an animal abuser, and most importantly the horses are the ones that pay for her sham of a business.
She made verbal threats against my business partner, as well as used some classy language.
We are in the process of taking legal action against her, I will call 7 news investigates, I will call PETA for animal abuse and take any course of action necessary to protect future clients and her animals.
We are not new to the horse world either, between my partner and I we have a combined experience of 60 years we know our horses and this woman tried to rip us off.
I have included her contact information PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL HER OR EMAIL HER!
Shame on you for your lack of care to innocent animals. your dishonesty in business dealings and your ridiculous claims. |
