DCI (formerly known as DYRO) and Daniel Blalock are a deceptive company are waiting to scam the unemployed! Houston, Texas |

As a new tranplant to Houston I was looking for employment as soon as possible. One uggestion I received was to search Craiglist for a job when I cam accross a posting, "Customer Service Rep needed, $2200 a month". The listing had a telepphone number which I called and I immediately got a interview for that day. Great I thought! As with other reports I have seen the front office femaled would not give me a actual addres just directions. I found this trange but I went anyway, dressed in a suit. When I get there the office i extremely unprofessional with loud music blaring and two females dressed like hookers as receptionists. There was cleavage and leg flashed everywhere. I fill out a application and get interviewed by Steve. I was never asked to write down references or a employment history but the ad aid no experience necessary. I interview with a nice guy named Steven, and a hour later I get a call that I got the job. Hooray! or so I thought.... My first day was Saturday, and we were oriented by the owner himelf Daniel Blalock who throws out fantastic wages we can expect, addtitional bonuses to be earned, flashy trips the company went on, Warren Buffet owns Kirbys (we finally found out the company), and he assured us that our position as a dealer rep was NOT a sales position. I left feeling uneasy but I was broke so I pushed my feelings aside..... On my first official day is when I was introduced to our trainer Justin, a very young animated character who cursed a lot and was apparently the number 1 trainer in the country. It turns out our job is to sell the Kirby cleaners (which are a great product by the way), DOOR TO DOOR!! This is done between the hours of 1pm to 10pm. Who lets anybody in their house after 8pm? Whenever I asked a question or referred back to the details Daniel had told us the previous Saturday, he would never anwer the question straight. Instead all day Justin threw out the fantastic wages we could earn, $400 training bonus, $250 for each machine sold (I was told we would not be selling), $50 attendance bonus etc. So in summation it was a sleazy door to door salesman job. So why didn't they just advertise it as that in the first place? This company has many other complaints on this site, with the Houston BBB and the Houston Press wrote a article on their sleazy work practices as well (http://blogs.houstonpress.com/hairballs/2009/03/dyro_vacuum_sales.php). Do not waste your time or energy going to work for these people especially when they do not pay all the big numbers that they promise. I did not go back. Looking on Craiglist again I see multiple postings for different companies and positions but the same contact number for a interview. They either say 'NEED TO FILL POSITIONS ASAP! FULL TIME Start over $2000/mo (W Houston, Katy, Sealy, Brookshire)' or 'IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED!! FULL TIME / PERMANENT for a Westside Houston Manufacturing Company'. Avoid at all costs. And for those that may not mind doing door to door sales, please read the complaints about not getting paid which is the reason why I did not return. |

If people would do their research and contact Mr Warren Buffet they would find out that he has nothing to do with the DCI company or the Kirby company at all. He owns and has stock in over 23 companies and none of them have anything to do with DCI, Kirby or any other distributors of the Kirby product |
