I paid the $25 application fee and was accepted into the apartment. I was so excited because I was new to L.A. and did not have a place to live. I moved in and even got my CA state license with my address and begin receiving mail. They said they would bring the rental agreement/leaded addendum up shortly because I moved into a 2 bedroom that was already occupied. The never brought up my lease. They kept making excuses. They did not even have keys to the apartment, I had to make them myself at a shop down the street. They scam people out of their money because my roommate attempted to kick me out for no reason and they cooperated saying she was in her right because I had no lease (which they did not give me). It's illegal to kick people out even if you have an oral lease and you cannot terminate a lease without formal notice of at least 30 days. You cannot harass rent paying individuals to leave or evict them for no reason forcing them to be homeless. The worst part is, they kept my deposit. This place has the worst management on the planet. They are running an apartment complex without a business license! If you're looking for a place with illegal immigrants, no lease, and a mom and pop management office run by an African girl that's hardly in the front office, then this is crash pad for you. But the day you have a problem, you will realize you get what you bargain for. They will not give you a lease and attempt to kick you out on a whim in order to keep your deposit. They are running a scam and you should run away from Carlyle Court and C&S enterprises.
