This is one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. The fees were outrageous and they are rude and extremely unproffesional (after you sign their contract). On April 2011 I called to cancel my account. The account retention specialist, Anny Barnabel was rude adn beligerent. She insisted I would have to pay and 'early termination fee' because I was closing my account before my 3 year contract was over. I told her this was not the case. I have statements that prove I had been with them for 3 and a half years. Then she said it didn't matter, she was going to make sure I was charged the fee anyway! I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she hung up on me! I called again, and spoke to a different rep who was relatively nice. He told me 'Anny' had sent an account cancellation form to my e-mail. I filled it out and faxed it back the next day. 2 months roll by and I notice there is an $85 debit out of my business checking account from "mps" (one of their many aliases). I called them, they said it was an "inactivity fee", and my account wasn't closed yet. I asked why not, they said they never received the fax I sent. They said if I faxed it today, to call tomorrow and a "customer service" representative would remove the fee. So I sent it again, and called the next day. Guess what? They refused to refund the fee. 3 days ago I filed a complaint against them with the BBB. Cynergy, et al, have an 'F' rating. I wish I had checked that out before I signed a contract. They made so many promises they failed to keep. I could have saved a lot of money. Class Action lawsuit? I'm so game! |

I too have been a victim of Pipeline Data/ Cynergy Data! I was charged a PCI compliance fee of $185 in December 2009, 2010, and then June 2011???? They said they sent a notice that I NEVER received! This company is a scam! Pure and simple. I will ABSOLUTELY join a Class Action lawsuit! I am also looking into having criminal charges filed against them for fraud! |

Cynergy Data is totally intertwined at the Director and Officer level with Pipeline Data. Last year they took over handling Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance for the Pipeline Data/Paynet Systems merchant account I have had since October, 2006. On December 23, 2010 my account was automatically debited $185 for their yearly PCI DSS compliance fee which should have covered me until December 22, 2011. Without any notification my account was automatically debited again for $185 on June 24, 2011 for a yearly PCI DSS compliance fee that would cover me until June 23, 2012. When I contacted customer support to inquire about the 6-month, double-booking overlap of fees for the period of June 24, 2011 through December 22, 2011 … I was told that they had simply re-synched all of their accounts to a June billing cycle ... and sorry, that was just the way it was ... and no credit/refund was due to me. Messages left with customer support management have been ignored.
Complaints should be filed with the U.S. Department of Justice Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force through the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) that was established by the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Does anyone know if you just pay the $495 (ouch) if they will just say ok and go away? It is almost starting to sound worth it. The guy told me today if i cancel i have to pay $495 (debited out of my account) for breaking contarct ( i just signed up on june 24th and it is only the 29th) isnt there some type of legal buyers remorse time allowed? or can you stop payments at your bank institution perhaps? |

OK... i am in the same boat with this PCI 185 dec 09...10 and june 11... i closed my bank account... closed my account with cynergydate... but still have other related accounts that didn;t get canceled and now dealing with collections... what a rip... i will file a complaint as stated above... |
