Customs Audio Chris Tedesco Scam! And a smooth talker. Internet
3rd of Feb, 2013 by User995305
I was leaving the Whole Foods at Rural and Baseline in Tempe at around 11:00am on Sunday, Feb. 3rd when I was approached by a man in a white avalanche about home systems that he was selling. Much like all the other reports he was an owner of an audio equipment company in Scottsdale. He claimed the manufacturer sent him the wrong system and he was trying to get rid of them. He said he had a wife and kids and money wasn't the issue, but he was trying to sell me the system. He said it retailed for $2,000 but was willing to make me an offer. His business partner came to the truck and said he just sold one to a lady for her husband for valentine's day. The man was named Chris Tedesco and he seemed very nice, but I told him I was hesitant. He proceeded to physically put the system in my car and we were right by an ATM, Chase bank. He said he'd take $200 for it. He showed me his business card but would not give it to me. I asked him a few times and he kept changing the subject and telling me to call him when I got home to 'thank him' for giving me such a great deal. They followed me to the ATM but parked far away. I kept telling him I just wanted it out of my car. He finally agreed but him and his business partner said I could take down his license plate #, driver's licence # and they even showed me their credit cards. Chris also proceeded to show me a pic of him and his 'son' on his iphone. I finally got them to take the system and leave me alone. I told them that I was going to google their business before i went further and kept trying to get a business card. The second I googled them it said 'Ripoff report' so i made an excuse and got away without telling them what I saw. Looking back i'm very annerved they tried to single me out and followed me to the ATM. I should have had stronger feelings about these two but i didn't feel as threatened as I should have. They could have hurt me or robbed me. Chris was wearing a white polo, a titleist visor, khaki shorts and sunglasses that resembled Oakley's. They were very nice which was even more worrisome. I really hope no one falls for this. It looks like they stick to groceries around the Chase banks. Beware!!
