My friend hired United Defense Group (now The Criminal Defense Group) owed by Eric Chase to help him with a old case. They took his money and told him that they could help him. Indeed they did. My friend was taken into custody and will probably be deported after serving time in a US jail. How did this happen? Well, he called the firm to deal with a case that over 10 years old. They told him that they could help. He was told that he would be working with a team. They charged him $2500.00. He paid in full. The firm put his case on the calendar. He was told to show up- which he did. The firm did not explain anything else to him. He was assigned to work with Nancy Yamini (now Charchian). She did not speak Spanish nor did she ever get an official court translator to speak to him outside of court. Nancy Yamini never explained to him what was happening or what to expect. The first time he showed up she was late and not prepared. She asked to re-set the hearing. Luckily, the judge did not take my buddy into custody. However, he wan't so lucky the second time. He was told to come back to court on the new date. In between the two court dates the attorney Nancy Yamini did not call him to explain to him what his options were. Yamini did not tell him that if he showed up for court that he would be taken into custody and probably would be deported after serving his time. Had she taken the time to explain this to him he probably would not have voluntarily turned himself in or showed back up for court. At the next court he was taken into custody and now will probably be deported. My friend tried to do the right thing with the wrong law firm/attorney. Here is a guy who hired a big law firm/attorney to help him clear up an old case and instead he got deported AND had to pay $2500.00 to get deported!!! When his family called the firm to see what happened and why he did not come home that night the firm asked them to pay another $2500.00 for an immigration attorney. WHAT?????? The family so desperate for help they paid the law firm another $2000.00 or so. However, my friend was not released and will probably end up being deported after he serves his time in a US jail. |
