I need to report a scam that took place on Aug. 27th, 2011, and I have lost my savings of $3,100. Please let me know if you can help me or who I can get with to pursue this issue if anything can be done. I was purchachasing a car thru craigslist, and responded to the ad from a Jennifer Miller ([email protected]) . Ms. Miller responded by stating that she won the car in a divorce settelment, it was her husband, and she wanted to sell the car, but could on do it thru paypal. I aksed her how she could sell a car in GA and she lives in OH, she stated that she had a previous buyer, but the deal fell thru, and I would not have to pay any shipping as long as the deal took place in GA., I then send the information as she reuqested. Then received an email from a Chris Dauberman ([email protected]) stating that he was with ebay motors and that I would need to send the payment to him thru Western Union, and that once I recived the vehicle that I would have 3 days to inspect it, and to let them know know if I appproved, and then Ms. Miller would get her money. I did as instructed, sent the money, informed both parties when the money was sent, emailed, and fax the recipt to Mr. Dauberman. I then recieved an email form both parties that everything was good and that I would receve the car with in 3 days., but later that evening Mr. Dauberman stated that due to the value of the car was being sold less than value that they would need insurace just in case something happend to the car while it was in my possession. To make a long story short, I have all email orrespondance, all recipets and original ad posted. Please let me know once again if there is something that I can do, or if I am just chasing my tail. Inclusion, I have had a person email me, from California, that they saw my scam alert, and was almost another victim. I have his emails as well to back up this scam. These people need to be stopped. Regards, |
