I purchased the test preparation materials for the Washington State 01 Electrical Administrator's examination. The "Comprehensive Tutorial" was unintelligible, not a tutorial at all, simply a bunch of multiple choice questions and answers. By definition a tutorial has to provide an explanation as to the derivation of the answer, not just site a reference book that has not been available for years. The "tutorial" was riddled with typographical errors and omissions of facts, references, and the answers were on occasion keyed incorrectly. None of the material sent to me showed any sign of proofreading or verification of accuracy. The "Basic Electrical Calculations Tutorial" was missing any explanation as to how answers were achieved mathematically. Once again, by definition a tutorial has to offer an explanation. Not a single algebraic formula necessary to the derivation of any of the answers was included. Likewise some of the answers in the "tutorial" were also keyed incorrectly. The practice tests were completely useless. Many of the practice questions were filled with typographical errors, missing or illegible charts and/or diagrams, and they did not include any of the Washington State specific code questions. The Washington State portion comprises a third of the total exam and I was not given any preparation material for that part of the exam. The "Electrical Math" video was citing the year 2002 national electric code. it is 2011 and the code has been revised three times since the video was put out and it cites a code book that is far out of date, and completely unavailable for reference or study. In addition the "instructor" in the videos is using a broken calculator, and proceeds to actually do one of the math problems wrong. I thought I was purchasing quality study materials for the price of $449. What I received was completely different than anticipated, and not at all what was described on the website. In addition, when I first tried to contact them regarding this matter at: http://www.contractorexam.com/requests.htm Under the subject line there is an option for "I have submitted a PayPal dispute" indicating that this has happened before, will happen again, and that this is clearly a disreputable business. Had I noticed that I would have not made the purchase in the first place. |
