Consumer beware when buying a Pulte Home. Read you contract and pay specail attention to your salesperson. I recently built a new home , please let me say it again a new home with Sun City Peachtree-Pulte Homes in Griffin Georgia. I had a concern from day one about my yard and being able to fence in the area for the dog. I was told no problem, after paying the $5,000 to pick out a lot I wanted to know more about the fence. This went on for several weeks. Finally I said I needed an answer about the fence. The salesperson said she could not tell me until after we closed. I should have stopped the deal immediately. I continued witht he home, several small issues kept happening. I was very unhappy. The salesperson knew it. Well much to my surprise, oh by the way my Brother had recently purcahsed a home in this complex. Back to my story, when I got upset the salesperson called to discuss with my Brother what had happened. I had not said anything to him about it yet. I was very upset and advised the salesperson that I felt like she had actually crossed the line and advised her she needed to check on the Georgi Privacy Act. She really had no comment. As the building continued there were areas that I was concerned about, but they kept pushing the closing. I advised the salesperson of some of my concerns. There were chips out of the upstairs sink, there was a crack in the Garage Floor that actually had started up the wall of the garage. On the oustside of the house the Siding did not actully crack, it broke in to in two different places. The salesperson wanted us to sign the last paperwork on the loan. I advsied her that I would not sign anything else until the home was to my expectations. I was advised by the Builder as well as the salsperon, that they do not replae anything once it is installed (Sink) they would repair it. i was told the crack in the florr was just settleing. I was not aware that settleing would go up the wall and break the siding in half. They caulked the siding and 6 days later there was more breaking in the siding in a different area. I told the salesperson we would not be taking the house. Three weeks later we were advised because we did not close on the closing date, that we failed to complete the loan application that we were at faught and would loose our $26,000 deposit. I am in contact with an attorney concering the Georgia Privacy Act. I am going to ask for a Jury trial. PLEASE be careful when you deal with this company. they are very Sharpe..... |

I agree read your contract.I went to Centex/Pulte homes, Sunfield developement (didn, t know it was pulte at the time) My and my wife filled out a form with basic loan information, bills salary etc . Before we knew it we were, preapproved.for a loan. Although at the time I was unaware of the preapproval process. We were presented with a massive multipage document(67 pages I counted later) Read before signing.Pulte has gone great lengths to proctect themselves of any misconduct. The emotionless Pulte has even included a death clause which reads in part"Seller may consider refunds of deposit(s) recieved in case of death of buyer or buyers spouse residing with buyer" Hmm I can imagine it has to be natural causes. What if its suicide.Maby even buyer had a known health problem makes you wonder what conditions of death would Pulte return the deposit.Of course there would have to be a death certificate. Anyway like 99 percent of gullible customers we were told were to sign and intial. In a sense your signing away all your rights as a buyer. The whole document is geared towards protecting Centex/ Pulte |
