I purchased a 73" Mitsubishi Television from the people in Burleson, Texas the salesman was very accommodating at that time my purchase was over $3400.00. At that time i was very skeptical of the TV because we had heard that if the lamp goes out it could be hundreds of dollars so we were more than happy to pay for the extended warranty!! Well Low and Behold we made it to the 1 year mark no problems, then when the TV was 14 months old the television was turned off 1 night and the following day tried to turn it back on it wouldn't do anything but come on and go back off. I woke up that next morning which was a Monday and called the warranty dept in Beaumont Texas they said no problem we will send a tech out in a few days. The tech from Electronic City in Arlington called and came out at that time he tried a lamp and was not able to fix the Television but said the circuit sensor was out and it was very expensive and took 15 -30 day for him to be back, Well my nightmare began:I called the Burleson Store manager Jose and told him the problem he said let me check on this and I will call you back. Never a Phone call back to tell me nothing!! Then I called him and was told by another sales person there Brian that he would try to find out how to expedite this, never a call from him! the next day I called Jose again he said i will try to get a service manager to make a decision and Call you back! Also never called back but the service tech called me a week later telling me he had the board and he could come out that next Monday At 1100AM!!! I show up at my home he said the board still didn't fix it and he would have to submit another requisition for and New main board. This could take a couple of weeks because Conns would have to make a decision to fix it or replace it!! I was Mad because Going on a month with no Television, I called back to the store of which I purchased this POS and Jose said well I will try to get this decision pushed through this was a Monday, he said I will let you know what to do. Still with no phone call from him! I received a phone call from Lisa @ the corporate headquarters in Beaumont Texas she said We are going to replace the TV it will take a few hours to get this input into our system,but then you can go to the store and they will exchange it for you. I waited until the next day and called the store to find out if the notes had made it there yet? The person I spoke to this time said maam they just don't replace those TV's! I ask to speak to Jose he came to the phone and said look there is nothing I can do, you keep calling but I cant do anything!!! I then called back to the resolution department and was told by Jasmine that they just DO NOT replace Televisions Of this nature! I explained I talked to Lisa from resolutions and what I was told!! She said I don't think she knows how it works. I have now contacted the Manufacturer (Mitsubishi) and was told I would be contacted by a representative from there??? I will keep you a prized!! I would suggest to any consumer never buy this extended warranty from Conns its like throwing your money out the window at a high rate of speed!!! I feel like there is no service after the sale and if I was a quite person these guys would have thought I would have just gone away!!! NOT ME!!!!! |

I am in a similar situation. Just paid nearly $2000 to pay off my Samsung 55" set from Conns and within one week every single HDMI port just stopped working. I have never moved the TV ever since purchasing or disconnected any of my devices, and like you I was scared into purchasing an extended warranty at an extra $399.99. I did so thinking hey its an investment I might as well protect it.
I currently live in Tucson, AZ and ever since calling back and attempting to get this resolved it has been nonstop run around. I call and they say call the next morning to speak with the manager and so I do and apparently he is out of the office AGAIN!!! Its been over a week now and not ONE single phone call back or ANY update. Heck I even called just earlier and the lady said on my account that no notes have been made or any kind of progression towards getting this resolved. I was told that if they couldnt simply get a tech out to my location since im obviously not near them that they would ship out a replacement but of course that mysteriously dissapeared off my account and now noone has a clue whats going on.
I have heard Best Buys warranties actually work as they should where if your TV breaks they simply replace it, this is how ALL electronic stores should be. Absolutely absurd that a 2 year old TV a week after paying it off starts to have horrible issues that render the set useless. I have had multiple purchases with Conns but this will be the last. I basically have a $2000 paper wieght.
PS-Also they told me that I need to have a third party repair person come out and fix it and pay for it myself and then they would reinburse me, I dont beleive that and refuse to do so since I already paid for the warranty. PLUS there isnt a Conns out here and no company is wanting to risk payment since they have never heard of or worked with the company...VERY VERY VERY frustrated.
Unless this gets resolved I will never purchase from Conns again and make sure to let this story be known. |
