Todd Markley and Compusleuth tout themselves to be Forensic Computer Analysts.
After having computers severly damaged by a hacker, I had Todd come out to my office, showed him firewall logs and the violating IP address. He had one job, confirm or deny the offending IP to be responsible or not responsible. He will talk alot about doing "police work." Testifying in court, knowing what the court needs as proof, he will commit to all your requests initially, tell you its no problem. Then he will say pay me.
In my situation he did nothing he promised. He took $7500.00 and 3 computers and gave me a report which is useless. He lied and said it was full of enough facts to move forward in my lawsuit. When he spoke to my attorney, his story was completely different. He told my attorney he had nothing.
When I made a suggestion to achieve the initial goal of the report he agreed to do the work, promising to actually achieve what he committed to initially. When it came down to doing the report, he backed out knowing the report was needed for the court date which I had the next morning.
Todd Markley was shown document after document which supported the facts he simply would shoot it down with not much of a reason. I repeatedly asked him what was evidence, what do you think proves my position. He could never answer the question, he would say, " I have a confidentiality, I cant talk about it." Clearly this makes no sense, I was never talking about or asked him about any specific case he was involved in, I was asking onlyabout my situation. Thats just an example of the con games he plays.
After promising to make the report right and to not charge extra, (he never apologized for not being able to execute the investigation on his own and that he had to rely on me throughout the process. ) He later changed his mind and demanded more money, mind you this is after 6 weeks, $7500 and he never finished what he promised to have completedin 5 days.
Thats how bold he will be, 1. Wont do what he initially promises
2. Blame you for it not happening. 3. Expect you to gather all the evidence. 4. Ask for more money to do what he initially promised.
If you are bold enough to ask him a direct question, he will play the technical card. Start talking in circle tech talk and hope to confuse you.
What Todd Markley did was take the evidence I gave him, put it in a template, and did no research of his own. I say that because he offered no information towards providing evidence, he took my info and put alot of specs of computers on an attached form. Then he told me how good the report was. My mistake was not reading it right then and there.
Probably the worst experience I have had with any business. Todd is pathetic and he doesnt care, really doesnt care.
Do not expect to get what they promise and todd talks a good game, so watch yourself |
