COLLEGIATE ADMISSIONS AND RETENTION SOLUTIONS TELEMARKETING HARASSMENT BIRMINGHAM, Alabama |
19th of Apr, 2011 by User654987 |
This company is a third party marketer for various colleges and universities throughout the US. The colleges hire this company to telemarket people who've supposedly requested information about furthering their education. However, in many cases they call persons who have not requested information, and even insist on connecting these people with colleges in order to get paid by the school. They are open from 7 am to 11 pm 7 days a week, calling on weekends and holidays. Their area code is 205, so if you're being called on behalf of a school that is not in Birmingham, but from that are acode, chances are they're the ones calling. They want to "verify" or "confirm" your information to "transfer" you to the school.. which isn't necessary, and exposes your personal information. |

You sound like a disgruntled employee. You also posted the same thing on rip off report. Obviously, the job of the company is to send good leads to the schools, and weed out the people who signed up for information to earn free stuff online, or who are no longer interested. If this company is hired to verify the information a potential student has entered, and to get them in touch with someone from the school...then, how is that not necessary? I have visited their website, and it all seems very legit to me. They plainly advertise what their goal is to their potential clients. Besides, it seems like a good step for the colleges to take, so their admissions officers aren't wasting time following bad leads. Their website also says they manage the do-not-call list, so if you don't want them to call you...it's as easy as saying "take me off your list." Furthermore, if you don't want someone calling you, then don't fill out the form for school info. And why does it matter what their hours are, or that they work on weekends, or holidays? Most companies do these days anyway. Also, a side note...they are only open until 10 PM and I'm sure they aren't calling people in the eastern or central time zones. They probably only call people in the pacific time zone after a while, which is two hours behind them. |
