CISNATIONWIDE.COM Inteligator Took My Money and Gave Me Nothing But a Headache Boston, Massachusetts Internet |

I recently visited an online organization known as CIS Nationwide aka Complete Investigation Services, for the purpose of obtaining the exact date of my divorce. When I typed in my husband's name, I got a screen that directed me to "View search results: click here." When I clicked there, I got the following message: "Your search produced no results by criteria." The design of the website leads the user to believe that the requested information has been retrieved when it has not. I then tried searching for my own name. Again, I received the message, "View search results: click here." After clicking, I was informed that there weren't any results. Each time, CIS Nationwide took $5.00 out of my account -- despite the fact that they have a "No Hit/No Fee" policy. As I was in the Divorce database, I decided to type in the names of the only married couple I know who have never been divorced. Again, I received a message that my information was just a click away. Of course, there was nothing. Finally, I typed in "Bozo The Clown." We all know HE never divorced or married! Again, I was prompted to "View search results: click here." I didn't bother to click that time. I decided to give them a call, but there is no number on the website. I decided to email them, but there is no email address on the website. You can send an email, but it is one of those form emails. It also requires you to dig up the purchase number on your online receipt and identify the website you "have purchased." Interestingly enough, the name of my website was not even on the drop-down menu, so I had to select another name and type the name of my website in the text of my complaint. There was also no discernible mention of what planet, continent, state, city, or rock under which they resided. I got all their contact information from a report by the Better Business Bureau, which gives them an A+ on a scale of A - F. Disturbing. In fact, in a report dated 11/19/10, the BBB reveals that CIS Nationwide was accredited by the Better Business Bureau in 2008. In the last 36 months, the BBB has processed 63 complaints against CIS Nationwide. All 63 have either been "closed" or "resolved," but you can be sure others will take their place. I am normally much more careful about my online spending and information seeking. I signed up for their service because I was in a hurry and I needed the information yesterday. I didn't even bother to look for a Ripoff Report. Big mistake. Unless you or the individuals you are researching are one of the only two (?) people in their database, don't even bother. Not only are you charged for every search, you are limited to the number of times you can access your information -- if you retrieve anything at all. If your time and your money are as valuable to you as mine are to me, steer clear of CIS Nationwide/Inteligator. What a Ripoff!
