Chris King Renovations Steals from Heart Transplant Patient.Morally Bankrupt, soul-less, lying thief. Cons you out of your money & takes off. Mantua,
27th of Dec, 2011 by User714083
He was paid in full and he did not complete the the work in his contract. He conned my husband, who is on permanant disability due to a heart transplant, into giving him payment in full before the work was complete. Since the onset of the job he wouldn't show up for work for days, even weeks at a time. Or he would say he was on his way to our home and never show up. Not a phone call, text or email. Nor would he answer our phone calls or text messages. He traded off services that we paid him to do to other business men, with the agreement of providing granite for us in return. He received his services free of charge from these individuals, we never received the granite. He has been paid in full for over 6 weeks now, and won't answer us. He even conned my husband into paying for things that he was supposed to pay for per his contract, telling my husband he would deduct it from the final payment once the job is completed. He knew that my 70 year old mother was selling her home in order to move in with us, to help us financially. He knew she was paying for this job with that money, in order to create more living space since would be living here as well. He knew of my husband's heart transplant and that he could no longer work. He knew that we had 4 children, and that I didn't work, and he still continually lied and in the end stole from us. He never finished painting, spackling drywall, nail pops, shower door not hung, etc., all per his contract. He has been sued before for doing the same exact thing to an 80 yr old elderly 'friend' of his family. We have since been hearing from other people he has done the same thing to, and used all the same lies. He was contracted for a job which he stated would be 6-8 weeks. Five months later, due to all of his no-shows, we were still waiting to be finished. Knowing how anxious we were, and that Christmas was a couple of weeks away, he told my husband a story of how his money was all tied up and that if we didn't pay him in full so he could purchase the supplies needed to finish our job it could take months before he may be able to get his money and finish. He conned my husband into thinking he was a 'friend', even calling him 'buddy'. My husband fell for the story, and gave him the last couple thousand dollars. That was before Thanksgiving. It's now a few days before the New Year, and he hasn't come back and he won't return our calls. This guy is the reason contractor's have such a negative reaction from people. Avoid him at all costs. He will come in with a bid lower than other contractors, but there's a reason. He doesn't do the work that your paying him to do, so he is making out in the end.
