Chase Bank JP Morgan Chase Lost a $2100 cashier's check Louisville, Kentucky |
19th of Jun, 2011 by User908390 |
On June 15,2011, I sent a cashier's check for $2100 via FedEx to Chase's payment center in Kentucky. There were detailed instructions as to which accounts to deposit and how much to each account. The FedEx package arrived at their location at 8:30am on Thursday, June 16,2011. It was signed for by D Heath. My deposit did not deposit that day and I sent an inquiry as to why. I was told payments received at that location take 2 days. It did not deposit on Friday June 18, 2011, and I again inquired as to why. The variety of answers I received are both obnoxious and ridiculous. Each of them was a reply asking for ridiculous information despite the fact I attached copies of the FedEx delivery receipt each time. One of the replies scolded me because "you have not waited the 7 business days for mail payments to post." I replied that it was not a mail payment, it was FedEx. The response wanted to know, again despite the attached copy of the delivery receipt, where the package was sent ! Customer Service last told me, last night, that they are referring this to their "Research Department" which will take 5 to 7 business days for a response. In the meanwhile, they have assessed my account over $135 in NSF fees. Of course, they tell me those fees will be credited as soon as the issue is resolved. No one seems to know who D.Heath is and they will not tell me whether D Heath has been contacted about this item. I feel this whole thing is a plan to collect NSF fees from their customers. They now have instituted monthly "service fees" for what had been a free account for years! Emails to executive.office@jpmchase and to CEO James Dimon have received no responses either. This is the email I sent to them: "On June 15, 2011 I sent via FedEx a cashiers check for $2100. It was received and signed for by D Heath in Louisville,KY at 8:30am June 16. I have been as patient as I can, but I cannot sit and wait indefinately. No one seems to be able to give me an intelligent answer as to where the money is and why it has not posted. I do not want explanations, stories, made-up bull, or any other than to get the money applied to my accounts as instructed. NSF charges have been assessed since June 16 which must be removed as the money was there to cover it if only it had been deposited. It should NOT TAKE 5 DAYS FOR A FEDEX DEPOSIT TO POST!!! I want it posted IMMEDIATELY and notification sent to me."
