Charter DOING BUSINESS WITH CHARTER IS A NIGHTMARE; THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED Fort Worth, Texas |

Doing service with Charter has been a nightmare. My apartment complex switched to Charter about 3 months ago. I signed up with Sue, one of their service agents, for the "triple play" where I was told my total bill would be $124 per month and that I would receive a $300 gift certificate for signing up for 24 mons. service. First of all, it took them more than a week to get my cable/internet up and running. My phone worked for two days and then quit working. They never came back to fix the phone until 2 months later!!! On top of that, my first month I received a bill for $561.38!!!! When I called in about my bill and problems with my phone, I was told that it was a mistake because they had inadvertantly made a mistake and not signed me up for the "triple play." The customer service agent said my bill should be corrected, but I would need to pay the past due amount of $153. I authorized this payment, but instead of them taking $153 out of my account, they took of $338! I got the major run around with the phone, but it finally was hooked up in May, two months after the ffact. This customer service agent said my bill should be $124 per month and that my bill should be corrected within the next 48 hours. But, my bill was still wrong. So I called in again. This time I was told my service was $224 a month and they don't give out gift certificates. The rep told me that "if I can't afford $200 a month I should let one of the agents know!" This has nothing to do with "what I can afford." I simply want to know how much I am being charged per month in writing as it keeps changing everytime I call in. And Charter refuses to do this. I received another bill today for $455. Charter has charged me around $795 in less than 90 days! This is for their basic triple play package (cable, internet, phone) with absolutely no PPV movies or extras. I am certain that most people would agree that this is ludicrous! |
