Cast Images Talent Agency Chandra Bourne (My Opinion) A Phony Sacramento, California |

As a Hollywood publicist who has personally represented many top celebrities from various films and hit television series over the past 30 years, I would like to offer my professional opinion. I've been associated with many hit shows including "Family Ties", "Home Improvement", and "Saved By The Bell". I would consider myself an expert in giving advice on this subject, and providing an honest opinion about Cast Images based on my experiences with them. As an agency, their number one priority should be finding work for their clients. I'm currently casting two films and two series pilots. I contacted Cast Images looking for talent. Too make a long story short. They blew me off. So I did a little research, and this is why I believe Cast Images is a joke. 1 - I had a friend submit his children to their agency. Approximately two weeks later, owner Chandra Bourne rejected these two kids (no problem) but then tried to sell my friend a book she wrote. Owner Chandra Bourne wrote in the email "Because of all the submissions we get for children, and my lack of time to answer each person individually with advice, I've written an ebook......" 2 - Her lack of time she wrote? That's because, according to her http://Liveperson.com account, Chandra spends 6 hours a day, 4 days a week, charging people $2.00 a minute for online advice, or $25.00 to answer 3 questions, or $40.00 to evaluate 2 of your photos. I guess, since there is very little film and television work available in the Sacramento area, she has to make money somewhere. 3 - In an email I sent Chandra I asked her to name just one successful client. She never responded. I'm not afraid to name names. If Chandra had any successful clients, don't you think she'd mention it? If she had any successful clients then perhaps she wouldn't have to spend 24 hours a week online charging people for advice (etc), and she wouldn't have to try and convince the many people who contact her to buy her book. 4 - If Chandra has never had any successful clients in films or television, then what makes her an expert on the subject? My personal opinions? If you're happy just being an extra, then perhaps Cast Images is OK. It is my personal opinion that your chances of accomplishing your dreams of being a successful actor are very slim with Cast Images. The truth? You need a Hollywood agent and you need to be available to travel to Hollywood for auditions. I realize it's tough for newcomers to obtain a Hollywood agent, but, you can try obtaining a Hollywood talent manager. Talent managers are more open to signing newcomers, and they can hook you up with a real agent. PS - Real Hollywood agents will never ask you for money upfront. They earn their money on commission for any jobs they may book you, and they wont charge you to answer your questions or try and sell you a book. |
