In April 2008 I made a loan with Cash Net USA in the amount of $500.00. The money was deposited into my account and I was under the impression that I would pay $700.00 back total, $175.00 in four bi-weekly installments till the loan and interest was paid back. My first paycheck was direct deposited in May 2008, and when I called the bank to see if my check was deposited they said yes, but, my balance is zero. I said, "How can that be?" They said Cash Net USA drew out several times over and over throughout the morning my paycheck was deposited and kept on drawing money out until my money was gone. I asked, "How am I supposed to pay my bills, they were only supposed to take $175.00 out of my paycheck, not my whole $1,321.00 paycheck." The bank teller said she couldn't help me. (That was Commerce Bank in Lebanon Pa.) I was devastated. So I went to the branch office in my town and told them what happened. The customer service man looked up Cash Net and said, "They are a scam company." I said, "Oh my goodness! What can I do to get my money back?" They said nothing, but, I can close out that checking account and open up another checking account within their bank and that company wouldn't be able to take money out of the new account, because, they won't have the new account checking number." So, I opened up another checking account feeling some relief. Two weeks later I called the bank to check my balance. Once again my money was deposited, but, drawn out again by Cash Net. My whole $1,321.00 check was gone again. I cried. I couldn't believe this happened again, and from my new account. I said, "How am I supposed to pay my car payment, rent, utilities, and food with no money? I worked for that money and someone else took it from me without my authority!" I then asked the bank, "How could they get money out of a new account?" They said, "The company charged the bank, we paid for the charges, then took the money out of your account." I said, "If you know the company is a scam, and I opened up a new account, how can you justify what you did?" They just stuck with their story that the bank was charged and they took it from my account. So, I closed out my account with them and went to Wachovia Bank. I told Wachovia what happened and they said, "We don't take payday loans into our customers accounts. If we see a payday loan coming in, we close the account down so that they can't steal anything from their accounts." I felt safe with Wachovia in knowing they wouldn't let anyone steal anymore money from my account. Two weeks later I got a bill from Commerce Bank for a large amount of money. Around $800.00. I called the bank and said, "What is this bill?" They said, "It is money that was charged to our bank, so, we are billing you to pay it back." I said, "Listen, you told me that company is a scam, you know they already took over $2,600.00 from me, and now you want to charge me another $800.00 for charges from a company to a customer you no longer have in your bank, Me?" They justified themselves by saying they paid the amount and they are no longer going to accept any more charges from them, but, I still owe that money. So, I paid it. This was in June 2008. I heard nothing from these people for over a year. Then, October of 2009 my mom called me and she said I have to call this guy that called her and dad and my brother Mike and his wife. They told my family that I committed internet fraud and I stole money from their company and that my parents and my brother were listed as co-signers on the loan papers and if they didn't pay them any money, they will go to court and go to jail. My parents were very upset, urging me to call these people back. I tried to explain to my mom that they are trying to extort money out of them, they were references on the loan, not co-signers, they don't owe any money, and neither did I for that matter and to just ignore them. Well, my mom called the guy back and gave him my cell number. I was so angry when he called me that I basically yelled at him for the lies he is saying and that I am not paying him anything else and to leave me alone! He said he was going to leave me alone, but, he can't guarantee what will happen to me next. I took that comment as a threat. I called my mom back trying to explain to her what happened and she didn't believe me. I was so upset that I just stopped talking to my parents for seven months. My sons and I missed the Holidays with my family. It was very sad. In all of my life, I never missed one Holiday celebration with my family. These people caused so much stress, and slandered me to the point that my parents are only just now starting to understand that there are bad people out there today trying to use and hurt people by stealing from them. That man didn't call me. Then I was at work last week and my supervisor called me and asked me if I have a lawyer. I said no, she said, "I thought so." I asked "Why?" She said someone called her and said they were a lawyer calling for me and I should call them back. They didn't give a name, just the number: 1-888-688-2977. When I did a google search on the number it came up as Thompson and Associates 355 Common Street, Lawrance MA. 01840. I didn't call them back. Tonight when I got home from work I had a message on my phone, the man said they were named Mr. Moore and they are investigating internet fraud and I should call them back at 239-344-9220. I know that all of these people calling my work and home are all linked to Cash Net USA. I feel they stole/embezzled enough money out of me and I refuse to call them anymore. I am tired of the harassment they are doing to me, causing all kinds of gossip at work, and among my family that isn't true. I filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy back in May 2010, it was discharged on March 2011. I did not list Cash Net in the bankruptcy, only because, I feel I owe them nothing, and I don't list debts that were paid. Thank you for reading my report. Please help me. I am interested in filing a class action lawsuit against them if there are others on here that are interested as well. |

There is much more to your story than you are telling. First of all, if you take out a payday loan for $500, you have like 31-days to repay. And currently, in 2011, CashNet USA has an APR of 460.16%. If you could not get the $500 then, how on earth did you plan to pay it back, plus interest, in full, in 31 days? They gotcha and that is how it's done. That was your first mistake. You would have been better off getting a credit card with a $500 limit, which the interest would have been way lower on, and made monthly payments until you paid it down. You did not pay off your payday loan in the pay-back time frame. I cannot explain the rest of your story until you come forward with ALL of the details. Do your math and always read the fine print. (FYI, I am not with this company and do not know who you are.) |
