CarMD CARMD Scrambled my car's computer because CarMD does not work on ALL cars as advertised. Fountain Valley, California |

On June 23, 2011, I saw an ad on TV by CarMD and it's supposed claims that with this device, you can automatically find out what really wrong with your auto and not get ripped off by car technicians. As a woman, I found that an excellent tool, so I purchased it right away and waiting anxiously for it to arrive to check my car out. Well, upon installing it to my vehicle, a 2003 Toyota 4 Runner, it did not work. What it did was to mess up my vehicle's computer system. I kept getting these weird messages on my dash board...all my lights were going on. I took it to the Toyota dealer and when I told the mechanic what I had done ... he quickly said...'yes' I've had a few of these before. It does not work on ALL car after 1996 as their ad incates.. There are some that do not and my vehicle is one of them!!! This visit to the dealership to have my car's computer reconfigured cost me $92.00. Plus I had already paid the first installment on the device which was $29.96 (planned to pay in three installments). Well, I immediately called them and they told me they would be sending me a label so I may return the device, which I did. I also sent a letter to their corporate offices with my copies of repair. But a couple of weeks later, I get no refund but instead another device!! I again called them and told them I do not want a replacement, I want a credit for my expenses!! I have called them at least every other week since. With no refund given. I finally received an e-mail on 7/25 indicating "Refund Confirmation" for the $29.96...but no refund has been received and no mention was made of refunding me for the repair to my vehicle's computer. Every time I call, they say the same thing... "I will notify Corporate of your call"....!!!! They need to alter their ad to indicate that some vehicles "like mine" are not compatible with this device. My mechanic has already seen a few with the same complaint!!! |

On behalf of CarMD.com Corporation, it is unfortunate to read this post and hear the rare experience you have encountered with our company. We take customer service very seriously and do not tolerate when our customers are treated in such a manner. Let us assure you that we have learned a good lesson and have taken the steps to ensure that this never happens again.
In your post you mention that our product did not work with your 2003 Toyota 4 Runner and that our product “mess[ed] up [your] vehicle’s computer system”. With over 1 million OBD2 (on board diagnostic second generation) tools sold in the U.S. by us and our sister company, we have never encountered this problem. In fact, our tool follows strict SAE (Society of Automotive Engineering) standards to only read what is on the vehicle’s computer memory. CarMD does not write back or interfere with the vehicle’s computer system. It also concerns us greatly that a Toyota dealership technician would state that “yes” he has seen this occur before. Did he mean to say that he has witnessed our CarMD product create this problem? Or was he generalizing on all OBD2 type devices? To us this is crucial information because we take such accusations quite seriously as they could lead to the need for legal action.
The reality is that our product does work on ALL 1996 and newer vehicles. In fact, our product has been tested on thousands of Toyota 4 Runners and tens of thousands of Toyotas. We stand behind our CarMD product and our satisfied customers who continuously rave about CarMD and their experiences with it. It is quite unfortunate that your experience was not the same.
As of August 23, 2011, our records show a posted full refund for the two installments to your credit card account. In regards to your dealership expenses, CarMD is willing to offer you twice the cost of your expenses if you can have the Toyota Dealership in New Port Richey, Florida write us a letter stating that they are certain beyond a reasonable doubt that our CarMD Vehicle Health System product was the only possible cause for your Zero Point Calibration charge.

I met Chris, aka CeceMor at a dancing club. He told me he was a so called famous comedian. He is nothing, nobody! He lives off women and his lies. He took me to a place and I didnt want sex with this guy, and had sex with him, because i was scared shitless. he kept calling me a "bitch" and "whore" while holding me down and hurting me. I was so scared .I never reported it to anyone, but read all the reports here and thought I would add just in case you ladies need me, or anyone else gets hurt or raped by him.He drinks non stop and lies non stop. One year I think he sadi he was a pro football player some girl told me at the club!! he changes his lies all the time, but he has this tribal tattoo accross his chest and he is about 5'10 and now fat!! He used to be 170 pounds he is bout 210 now!! fat chubby bald guy who has a famous cousin he wishes he was!! They hang out and his cousin name is SHEMAR MOORE they both players I met both at santana row. But you see Cece think he is as famous as SHEMAR and NOT!! But shemar lets his cuz play on his tails! Thats why Cece want to be famous because Shemar is. Cece hangs out at number one broadway in los gatos and any scrub bar in san jose. He lies nonstop and has no dates on his site that is real. he also posts on his facebook as women, who are his fans but its really CECE doing it ! stoopit loser. he is a liar, has no job and a loser!!! he lives off womens and lies and rapes women!!! |

I ordered 7 bridesmaid dresses from House of Brides on January 11th as my wedding is May 13th. It is now May 3 and I still have no dresses!! We were told that it would be 14 weeks! However, no one now remembers telling us that! How convenient! I was told the dresses would be in the last week of April. When I called Monday, May 2 to talk to the order department I was put through to the order managers voice mail. I left not one but two voice mails for her to contact me. She never did. I then finally requested to speak with the store manager. After being told she was on a call and they could put me through to her voice mail, I said absolutely not, I would hold. After holding for 20 minutes I finally talked to the store manager who told me the dresses were suppose to arrive last week. She said an order had just come in and she was going to check it and call me back. She never called. After three hours, I called and requested to speak with the store manager, and was told that she had already left for the day. I then asked to be put through to her voice mail. I left a not so happy voice mail where I demanded she call me back the next day. The next day came (today) and House of Brides calls but it was not the store manager, it was the sales associate that helped me the day I ordered the bridesmaid dresses. The manager didn't even call me even though I had left her a voice mail demanding she do so. I explained to the sales rep that I was extremely upset and that I expected something be done, free alterations, discount on the dresses or the dresses free, but something. This is ridiculous and not acceptable. She told me she would call me back with an update, she was going to see what she could do. I never got a call back, so four hours later I called back. She told me that the store manager said this was not their fault and that they were not going to give me free alteration or anything to that matter, the dresses would be in before my wedding that is in 10 days! I then demanded to talk to a manager. I was finally put through to the order department manager. This is the person who I had previously left two voice mails for, and never called me back. She was not at all empathetic and pretty much told me this was my fault, that the dresses take 4-6 months. I was never told this! Why would I order dresses that would possibly not be in in time for my wedding??!!! I wouldn't!! I then demanded to speak with the store manager! And of course she was not available. This time she was in a meeting. I told the order department manager I had been waiting 2 days so what's another hour. Well, the sales rep came on the line and convinced me to let the store manager call me back as soon as she was out of her meeting. Three hours went by and no phone call!! So I called again!! This time I had to wait about 10 minutes or so for the store manager to pick up because she was "on a phone call behind closed doors". When I talked to her, she too had an attitude! She told me that she didn't find it necessary to call me back because I had already spoken to the other manager, even though I requested she call me back. She told me there was nothing more she could say that the other manager already didn't. She told me that this was not their fault, it was mine. I truly do NOT want a refund, but I want something done! This is not okay! I would not have ordered dresses that possibly would not be in in time for my wedding! This store needs new management as the current managers are HORRIBLE! House of Brides say that they pride themselves in customer service. Where is my customer service??? What is going to be done to make this better! All of my bridesmaid dresses need alterations! It is not okay that the dresses are not here yet, 10 days out! This is not a way to conduct business! I have made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and have sent an email to "corporate" through the House of Brides website. All I want is an apology for what is going on and something in return for this huge inconvenience!!! When these dresses come in and we go to pick them up, you better believe I will let every person know that walks through that door that this is not a store you want to do business with! They are suppose to call me tomorrow with the tracking number of the dresses! But from their track record, I won't get the phone call!! Future brides out there BEWARE OF HOUSE OF BRIDES!!! |
