I received in the mail an offer for a free vacation-cruise package from Caribbean Cruise Line. On April 1st, 2010 (what an April Fool's joke)I called and talked to Cindy.
Iwas offered a free 2-night vacation in Fort Lauderdale, a2-night stay at Lucaya Resort in Grand Bahama, anda cruise to Grand Bahama Island on their Celebration Cruise ship for up to four people, with free car rental included for one week.
Also included were 2-day vacations to several other vacation spots, including Hawaii.
Iwas told by Cindy that all meals were included for up to four people. We only had to pay $199.00each for first two people and $129.00 each for 3rd and 4th. Right off the bat $898.00 dollars.
When the confirmation came half the vacation spots were left out andInever got confirmation for Hawaii.
I called customer service, got no satisfaction on the trips and was told that meals were only for two peoplein Fort Lauderdale and all four had to pay for meals on Lucaya.
We also had to pay $100.00 (another $400.00)each for an upgrade to a larger room on the cruise ship. At this point I asked if we were all paid up on everything and was told by Tiffany (4-16-10) that there were no more charges.
Today, February 1st, 2011,I got a call to confirm all details of the trip. Rosalee stated that each person was to pay $15.00 per day taxesat the Inverrary Resort in Fort Lauderdale ($180.00 total-3 days-we also had to pay for 1 extra day there-$60.00).
We were to put a $300 refundable deposit on the car rental when we picked it up. We were to pay $12.00 per person per day for gratuities on board ship ($96.00), and $15.00 per day($60.00) for garage fees for the rental car while we were on ship and at Lucaya Resort.
If this had all been discussed up front at the start we would not have booked this "free" vacation. The fact that every timeI talkedto someone (and I havename, dates, and times) I was told something different or flat out lied to has ruinedany excitementI ever had about this trip.
We are to leave on 2/25/11 and return on 3/4/11. Of course we were responsible for our airline tickets to and from Fort Lauderdale. |
