This company is the biggest SCAM and HIGH price to pay for "help"! And I unfortunately fell into it. I started out with CareOne to help manage my debt. When I could no longer fulfill there requirements they recommended me to Persels & Associates. They were "attorneys" that would work with my creditors to reduce each debt. After about 10-12 months on the program, I called to see how things were going and to see how much money was set aside in the "escrow" account to give to creditors. To my surprise there was very little. I questioned this and they stated that for the first 18 months on the program, the majority of the money (95%) they were drafting out was going to legal fees. They also stated that they could not work with any creditor until at least 50% of the debt I owed each creditor was in escrow before they could make contact. Since I was so far into the program at the time I continued. (Bad decision I now realize). I received an offer settlement from one of my creditors, and at the advise of the attorney (a rare occasion that I had contact) since the creditor was taking me to court to not accept the offer. So I didn't...guess what happened?! They now have raised the settlement offer by $1,500 and must be paid now to avoid them taking me back to court. I received very little to no help from any attorney for any of my creditors. Bottom line...DO NOT UTILIZE THIS PROGRAM!!! I have since quit the program and have settled with my creditors on my own. Try to work with your creditors on your own first, they are easier to work with than you think!! Signed,

| Crooks! I have been with Persels since January 2011, I send them $875.00 per month. They have done nothing, I got rid of them on July 26 th I settled most of my accounts by phone myself for a lot less than I had owed them. Do not use this company I was told by a collection attorney that they have orders from American Express to not settle with Persels. |

| I am responding to User 805776 dated July 14 2011...We have the same situation as you stated in your comment..Everything in your comment is the same with us...we have been giving $900.00 a month $599.00 went to atty's for 6 mos..and $453.00 for 13 months..total of $9483.00 and we have been totally screwed. Cancelled the program as of July 13th 2011...I have been asking for atty fees back and they are giving us $1359.00. plus all the large bills they never went bothered to talk down. . 2 AmerX bills we went to court for and Judgements against and our life is hell...These people at Persels are nothing but SCAM artist. They line thier pockets with YOUR money and they DO NOT attempt to get your bills paid as promised...Ever listen to the person on the other end of the phone when you call..they say as they are saying good day"""THank you for trusting your needs to persels..""" what a bunch of crap...{nicer word since I am on this} This has been a very BAD DECISION for us to be in this program and I will never have a nice thing to say about them, ...They never helped us even when I called and told them we would give more money to get the bill paid and they never did a thing about it...I personally had a capital one bill I had to go to court for and I tried as I might to not go and I paid this bill for 4 mos and then Persels calls and says we will pay that bill off now...WHAT is that!!! so I do not care about them paying anything I do not trust them at all and I will simply do it myself...as I hear it is much easier and more peace of mind...I too would like to say DO NOT UTILIZE THESE PEOPLE...THEY DO NOTHING TO HELP YOU ... ITS ALL A SCAM. {just one thing I didn't mention we have been in the program for 2yrs and we are now out of this program...} So we are on our own and I know we can do this better than any Persels and asso...Signed also Pissed off and Frustrated... |
