Capitol One Capitol One Fails To Protect Customers' Personal Information Customers Email Addresses Compromised In Data Breach Richmond, Virginia |

Capitol One's customers' personal information, specifically their email addresses, were compromised due to negligence on Capitol One's part in giving customer info to a marketing vendor. Since my email address was compromised I have seen a significant increase in virus and malware laden spam emails which can only mean that the compromised email lists were sold to spammers. Capitol One should be heavily fined for this data breach and its failure to adequately protect customer info. What makes the lowlifes who run this company think they can give out personal info like email addresses to "marketing vendors"??? Maybe it's time for a class action lawsuit against these lowlifes to force them to stop giving customer's personal info (like email addresses) to "marketing vendors". The email from Capitol One announcing that customer's email addresses were compromised due to Capitol One's gross negligence. ------------------------ Dear Capital One Customer, As we have communicated over the course of the last week, Epsilona marketing vendor that sends e-mails on our behalfnotified us about unauthorized outside access to files that included Capital One customer e-mail addresses.
