On July 11th, 2011 between 5:30pm and 6:30pm I was at the Calgary stampede with an acquaintance when we where approached by two Calgary Stampede security guards travelling on bicycles who requested to search our belongings. We refused, and requested to leave the premises. They refused to allow us to leave the premises and informed us that we where obligated to allow them to detain us for any reason and search our belongings, pockets and person for simply being on the property. While they where forcefully searching our belongings we requested the Security Officers names and badge numbers, to which they refused. After illegally rummaging through our belongings, they confiscated most of my personal property, including my personal identification, and we where then escorted by the security officers and Calgary Stampede CPS, along with my acquaintance, to the exit of stampede grounds where they then released us on conditions that we not return to stampede grounds for the duration of stampede. They refused to give me a refund of my all-day ride pass which I never got to use nor would they refund the admission fees.
