Business Futures Business Futures Inc THE WORST LANDLORD EVER Golden, Colorado |
17th of Apr, 2013 by User601185 |
Quite possibly the worst rental management company in the Greater Denver Area. I rented a house for four months from this atrocious company before they violated our lease badly enough for my attorneys to tell me to leave. Shortly after handing them my deposit, I was informed that the garage attached to the house would not be in my custody for several months so the landlord's nephew, the previous resident, could store his things there. I was then informed that I would not be given my deposit back if I chose to back out of the house. I had not yet signed the lease, but it can be difficult to find a nice house to rent in the winter and the outside was cute, so I did it anyway. It was not a nice house. While moving my things in on the first day, or at least attempting to, I discovered walls so yellow from smoke that you could see clear outlines of pictures past, carpet imbedded with cat feces, an un-flushed toilet, and a mysterious white goop that covered both the kitchen and the bathroom. According to the company, the house had been painted and thoroughly cleaned prior to my move in date. Upon first use of the oven it became apparent that its entire bottom layer was covered in rat feces, making the poop count for my house now range across three species. They refused to change the locks, as the law requires when a house changes tenants, and refused to let us do it ourselves. No maintenance request was ever taken. After several months of being stalked, being charged for my roommate's boyfriend spending more that six nights a month at our home, and being told that our rent hadn't been paid after they had clearly received and cashed our checks, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation shows up at a little after midnight in plain clothes and bearing guns. Apparently the landlord's nephew, the one keeping his things in our garage, was a violent sex offender on the run from the law. They still would not change the locks. We moved out shortly after. |
