Manila Central Post Office Warren V. Nantes custom fee duties and taxes scam Phil post scam EMS Pasay scam syndicate

I received the notification card from Post office yesterday the package is in the Post office in Manila ( Lawton, Philippines) and that i should pick it up there at window 124 located at the basement ( the stairway that lead down to hell ) I expected that they will deliver it to my house (The hotline that i called told me that they dont have enough logistic assets to do so). Rode a taxi on my way there and gave the Philpost grumpy grandmas at window 124 my notice card and tracking number then told me to wait for the fat grumpy grandpas to call my name. It didnt take that long for my turn. They opened the package in front of me and there they are my precious Dranei Paladin and my Gnome Warrior collectibles. Included in the package was a photocopy of the Play-Asia invoice that the customs official inspected and almost automatically, i was told that i had to pay importation taxes for them. The amount that the gay corrupt customs officer calculated (out of her head) is PHP 6,406.00 tax which is around US $130-ish. And the Shipping fee that i already paid for with my transaction with Playasia is included in the computation slip (Not sure if its included in the computation itself, but with the bad penmanship, yes it was written on a scratch paper, its almost impossible to tell.). I only had 1,000 PHP with me so i asked them if i can pay via credit card (which was also a bad idea for me, but it was an act of desperation to get my precious-es) but i was told that they only accept cash. looks like i have to go half-day on office again tomorrow because they dont entertain shipment reception during weekends. I dunno if the computatuon importation fees for my order was legit or if there was some sort of corruption involved, but one lesson i learned from this : DONT order via EMS when you live in the Philippines, whos shipment gets dropped to Philpost, customs and eventually corruption. If you did, you are not alone just check ebay discussions, apparently this has been the case for Thousands who ordered stuff online. Most of them got spared, though. from the discussions, theres only 10% chance of getting snaked by customs. Depends if the customs office already met their quota.Btw. I am ordering a GTX280 this week and it would cost me approx USD $450.00, i hope the customs official wont go greedy-mode on me again. Spend for courier (UPS) rather than get robbed by customs Ask if they (stupid people at customs) have a breakdown of cost (equivalent to Taripa in Jeepneys) so you can validate their total claim and what exactly have you been taxed on. Im pretty sure 80% of what theyre asking you to pay is an Im-hungry-I-need-Mcdonalds-from-this-kid-with-collectibles tax hi! same thing happened to me last january. I claim my box with 5handbags & 1 wallet w/c is declared as a gift for $35. When they open the box, the guy from the post kept on inspecting the bag and said “di lang $35 itong lahat” and i answered him back “i have no idea dahil gift lng un and hindi ako ang ngfill-up ng customs form” I mean to be rude to them coz I know what they are up to. Then he went inside to compute how much I am going to pay. then the computation came up to 1300+ I told him, “ang mahal naman & i don’t have money with me, can I come back tom.?” They said fine, but my mom insisted that its too expensive is there any way to cut it down. Then the tomato nose old man unleash his mask, he asked how much money do I have, I got the 500bill as my smallest bill, then told him I got 500 hundred. He said 500 is fine and will they will release my box but w/ no receipt. I know giving him 500 was wrong but I have no other choice, I don’t want to come back again and deal with him. They are so corrupt kung my time lang ako, I will report them to IMBESTIGADOR kasi some people uses the cheaper courier like USPS(meaning their box will land to PHILPOST) to save money and then the recipients will end up paying high tax. i think the one u refer as tomato nose old man, i think cia ung custom officer na minention ko sa taas. ung nakita ko na inabutan ng babae ng pera na nakatupi sa bondpaper ata pero kita pa rin ung pera. kc theres three guys na nandon. First un ung magreciv ng claiming form mo and magchecheck ng id mo, then ipapasa nia sa kasama nia na mataba na medyo maitim (warren v. nantes) or the other custom officer na tomato nose old man. Lahat cla di nagsusuot ng ID. samantalang lahat ng nagtatrabaho sa post office na nasa taas nakasuot tlg ng ID. tnx, ryt now ala n kong magawa pa, kundi to w8 for the next package na darating, dapat dumating na ung ngaun e, pero maybe hinold nila para matagalan, i paid for the first one pala, binabaan nila ng 1,000.00 my sis triesd to bribe him, pero sabi ng kotong customs officer, na pano daw yan, e sia daw ung mag-aabono ng kulang kapag 400 lng bigay namin, kuno. nagmamalinis. anyway, we got the receipt pero walang details about my package except for my name and charges nila sa kin, but it took the customs officer too lng para lng magsulat ng recibo sa loob pa ng kanyang office, later narealized ko na baka, di lahat ng 3 copies of receipt (one white, blue and pink) have thesame content. pero di ko nacheck before ko napirmahan, anyway theres still the 2nd package…..btw, he gave me the pink receipt, db dapat ung puti?? and nakalagay para don sa slip sa baba, ay if over $25 ung package na babayaran ay magchacharge cila na 2 pesos for the document stamp. wth?!!! 2 pesos lng? e ung charge sakin e 265 for the document stamp. once your face is familiar to the post office and customs people, they will be asking you questions and next time you claim your package, theyre gonna ask you to open it infront of them to check whether youre telling the truth or not. when that happens, your Php 35.00 normal charging fee will be thousands of pesos. Despite that it is declared as a gift or has a declare value of US$50 or less, they’re gonna try sucking you inevitable amount for the package. - See more at: http://bistado.com/news/scam/philpost-scam-ems-pasay-custom-fee/#comment-1615
