| To whom ever would be thinking of investing and or renting and or working for Brian Smith, should think twice! My partner worked for Brian at The Space Creators building, he wanted him to do some shady work. Things that did not see right. So my partner left the employment of Brian Smith. He was going to do that anyway, because we are a gay companionship couple and my partner had over heard Brian on several occasions refer to the gay community as f*gots and they all should die, and talk to a black man named Tye that works for him as if he was his slave! Brian refused to pay my partner the moneys owed to him, saying you quit so fuck you! My partner had talked to several ex employees of his and they said he was a thief and has more enemies in the Rino area (Rino is an art area in the 5 points area of denver) then friends and is very homophobic. They also believe Brian has taking moneys from investors, which i belive because he went from driving a Prius to an Audi over night and caring an expensive bike in his car. He has taken many of trips out of the country, which my partner thinks he is hiding money out of country! Which we are reporting to Homeland Security so that next time he is checked! I'm sending this because i don't want anyone to be used as we where and many of others. thanks |

This is the above mentioned Tye, which is actually spelled Ty. First I would like to say that it is not necessary for anyone to speak on my behalf regarding any matters of my employment. My employment at The Space Creators is wonderful and Brian is one of the best people I have ever worked for. He treats me with the much respect and has never talked down to me in any manor. Second, if your going to drag someones name through the mud, at least have the decency to stand up and expose yourself. This isn't high school where we deal with things through anonymous rumors. I am a very reasonable person, as is Brian...if there is an issue you would like to discuss, please feel free to email me at [email protected] (remember, no E).
I also I would like to mention that my response is not because you are gay, straight, or any other off kilter reason you may think of. I am responding to you because you put my name in it, therefore I have a right and duty to give my side of the story as I see it. I believe what I say, which is why I have no problem putting my name on this. If you believe so strongly in your words, you should consider doing the same next time you want to attempt to drag someone through the mud. DON'T BE A COWARD!

While I don't know anything about the specifics outlined above, I know Brian very well and can vouch for his upstanding character. I currently serve on the RiNo board with Brian and know the neighborhood as well as anyone. Not only have Brian and his organization been great tenants for us, but on a number of occasions Brian has referred tenants to us and we have referred tenants to them, as well. Moreover, I oversee one of the largest LGBT organizations in Denver and Brian has been incredibly supportive of our community endeavors.
I also know Ty very well having worked with him in the past, and he is also a good friend. From my vantage point, he has done a great job working with Brian and his organization and they make a great team.
Even though Brian is technically a competitor of ours in terms of real estate speculation in the RiNo area, I am proud to regard Brian as a good friend. Brian is a rising business leader in Denver and doesn't deserve his name being besmirched anonymously in this way.

My name is Terra Jo, I have been a tenant with The Space Creators since they opened the building and before it was even finished. Actually, I am very proud to say that I was among the first five tenants to occupy a space. I am planning on leaving in the coming months but only because I am pre-leasing a studio space at their new location.
In addition to being a tenant I have been employed as a bookkeeper by The Space Creators as of August. With that title comes the responsibility & privilege of knowing where the money comes in from and where it goes out to. I can attest to the fact that no money acquired by any means has ever been used for any purpose that was not business related. The assumption that Brian takes regular trips to any country is fatuous, he takes one trip a year for his birthday with his girlfriend. That one trip is well deserved for the sixty plus weekly hours he devotes to career.
Brian is a prominent member of the River North Arts District as the Chairman for the RiNo Neighborhoods District and is dedicated to our community’s progress and beautification.
As for the comments regarding the bigotry accusation, the entire staff, including all office and construction employees, is comprised of multiple races, ages, genders and sexual orientations with no complaints to date. |
