DO NOT use this videographer. Our large organization was looking for someone to film a series of events, and we reached out to several on Craig's List. The first to respond was Brian Kuale, who uses the business name "Colours Film." We agree on a time, place, date, fee, acceptable attire for the event, and we agreed he would deliver the footage on disc within one week.
First of all, he arrived wearing basketball shorts and a ripped t-shirt--to a very formal function. Second of all, he was fifteen minutes late, causing us to hold the lecture, as we wanted it all captured on tape. Even though I told him well in advance he would be filming a 1 hour lecture of a person standing behind a podium, he did not bring a tripod! He was wobbling all over the place, and kept kneeling and leaning up against walls for support. I had asked him over the phone whether he had his own equipment, including a tripod, and he said yes...not sure why it didn't come with him that day!
They, the real fun began. Though I had told him in advance that our institution takes roughly two weeks to establish you as a vendor before you can be paid, he insisted in being paid--in cash, no less--right that moment. Naturally, we refused him, and he became very rude and angry and his behavior got very ugly. We already knew we clearly were not going to use him again, but we didn't know what a pain in the rear he would continue to be.
A week went by and he had not delivered the disc, so we contacted him. We heard nothing for days, and we never received our disc. Finally, we got an email with a link on it that opened into the WORST possible film you could ever imagine--it was grainy, scratchy, and so shaky and all over the place you might have confused it for the Blair Witch Project! It was truly unusable, and a nightmare. When we let him know that we didn't feel we should have to pay for such substandard work, he wrote a truly horrifying letter, rife with profanity, to us, full of curses, insults, sheer nastiness, and promises of vengeance. Now, we are receiving phone calls from his "advocate," whoever she may be, who is insisting that we pay him. We are going to fight this one all way to the end!
