New Search Engine Technique Bubbles to the Surface
Beach Hut Media, Sydney, Australia introduces their new search engine technique called Search Bubbler.
Beach Hut Media launches new search technology (patent pending) the bubbler technique relates to data searching and creating a user interaction tool that enables users to further refine a search criteria based on the tags and associated terms to aid in the search.
The tool is platform / application independent and the larger the data set the more useful it becomes.
The application has a variety of different applications from search engines, CRM search, email search, eKiosk tool, the application is endless.
Beach Hut Media is now in the commercialization phase and looking for licensing or partnering opportunities with various companies globally to capitalize on this unique tool
Background
Many people search the Internet for information, products, services and other data there. Typically these searches are performed using primary search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. The amount of data available frequently results in many thousands or millions of results, most of which are not relevant to the user. Even using ranking systems it is difficult for the user to exclude irrelevant results and users frequently waste their time clicking on the links of a results list which appear relevant but which upon further investigation are not. Further, if the user wishes to refine the search, the user needs to identify what additional words or terms to utilize in the search and what search criteria to use. This is too difficult for many users for several reasons. Bubbler allows users to refine their searches easily, quickly and get to what they want by refining their search using using this unique search technique.

Paris talks keep up REDD momentum
Paris talks keep up REDD momentum
Monday, 15 March 2010
The first steps to kick start a global REDD scheme to halt deforestation and build on progress in Copenhagen have been taken at a meeting in Paris. A further $1 billion has been promised and a ten-nation steering group established to drive the implementation of a global avoided deforestation and forest carbon enhancement mechanism over the next three years.
French President Nicola Sarkozy hosted the closed-door International Conference on the Major Forest Basins last Thursday, the first high-level gathering on forests since the UNs Copenhagen climate conference in December. It drew representatives from more than 60 nations donor developed countries and forest-rich developing nations along with UN and World Bank representatives.
The group aims to work up a concrete, detailed plan for the rolling out of a global REDD+ scheme to take to the next annual UN climate conference in Cancun, Mexico, in December. A second meeting is scheduled for Oslo, Norway in May. REDD+ includes activities aimed at reducing emissions due to deforestation, reducing emissions due to forest degradation, boosting forest carbon stocks and sustainable forest management.
REDD negotiations were one of the few areas of major progress in Copenhagen, with a final agreement prevented only by the lack of an overarching climate agreement which would have drawn in REDD text as one of its components. A number of technical and social issues surrounding avoided deforestation activity were resolved at the Copenhagen talks, while the US, Australia, France, Japan, Norway and the UK made pledges worth $3.5 billion for fast-start funds to enable REDD+.
The Paris conference saw this amount increased to $4.5 billion with additions from other donors. Germany has also promised devote 20 to 30 per cent of its overall 2010-2012 fast-start climate change funding to the initiative an amount still subject to Berlins budget planning process.
Ten nations from among both developed and developing nations were appointed to form a REDD+ steering group. Among its first tasks would be to consider how to fairly carve up the billions in early funding among forest nations, which include Brazil, Congo, Indonesia and a host of smaller tropical countries.
The various international forest stakeholders developing world governments, environmental NGOs, the UN and World Bank are now keen to see that that momentum is not lost. Broad agreement has been reached on principles of REDD+ and safeguards for forest and indigenous peoples, WWF says. The new grouping represents a critical opportunity to mobilise early action and financing on REDD+ and thats an opportunity that cannot be ignored, WWFs Forest Carbon Initiative Leader Chris Elliott says.

Australias first carbon neutral golf championship
Australias first carbon neutral golf championship
Tuesday 28 October 2008
2007 Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Champion, Peter Lonard. Continuing its tradition of leading by example, the PGA of Australia today announced that the 2008 Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship will be a CARBON NEUTRAL event.
It is believed to be the first time a major golfing championship has undertaken such a stance, the move underlining the PGAs commitment to pursuing sustainable methods of operations.
The PGA has formed a licensing arrangement with two companies to be their official partners in this endeavour who provide independently verifiable analysis of the championships carbon footprint. e-par headed by Environmental Scientist Terry Muir will be undertaking the review of all aspects of the PGA Championship to determine the exact environmental impact, while Shift2Neutral, headed by Brett Goldsworthy will be providing direct sponsorship of Certified Carbon Credits to offset the championships emissions.
The PGA already knows of the great environmental benefits golf courses have in their local communities in terms of consuming carbon emissions and now we are taking the next step in offsetting our impact on the environment by making Australias best golf championship Carbon Neutral, said Max Garske, CEO of the PGA of Australia
We are the first major golf championship to be taking this step. We already have our head office on a facility supported entirely by recycled water and we will be continuing this process of introducing standards of recycling, minimising carbon emissions and doing all we can to be an environmentally friendly business over the next three years and beyond, he added.
e-par and Shift2Neutral have shown great foresight in the environmental area and we look forward to working with them to continually improve our actions and encourage other events, golf facilities and the entire Australian golf industry to adopt best practice in this area.
Todays announcement is a significant step forward for environmental governance across the golfing world, said e-par CEO Terry Muir.
We are very proud of partnering the PGA of Australia to identify and manage the carbon footprint of a major golf event through the e-par Environmental Management System and excited about the PGA setting an example for others throughout the golfing world to follow, he added.
Mr Goldsworthy of Shift2Neutral went on to add it is an honour to be involved with both the PGA and ePAR. We believe this is an important step in highlighting the true value of the work both the PGA and ePar are providing environmentally and the importance they play both in the industry and globally.
The 2008 Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship will be played at the Hyatt Regency Coolum on Queenslands Sunshine Coast from 4 7 December.
