I found the advertisement for a property being leased by Brandon Overton for vacation lodging on www.aribnb.com. The property is at 511 Decatur Street Brooklyn 11233, New York. The advertisement seemed legitimate as there were decent reviews from people who had booked the place however, I did not have a credit card at the time so proceeded to make an enquiry to pay cash. Mr Overton, agreed, I went to see the place. I found there were other people living there and it was okay so I proceeded to pay my rental for the week to commence the next day. Mr Overton said he leased the place with his mother and that he worked for the police department of new york. The following day I received a call from him to say the room had been double booked and that I would get my money back but only after 24hours as was waiting for it to clear in his account. For the next 3 days I chased after him unsuccessfully. He was not only rude and belligerent he was dishonest. I returned to the venue to discover he does not have a job at all. He proceeded to call the police when I refused to leave until my money was returned. Unfortunately this was not a criminal case as I "gave" him the money even though he clearly had stolen it by deception. I also discovered that he booked other travellers in my place so he had no intention of returning th money.
