Boost Mobile Identity Theft Troy, New York |
7th of Nov, 2010 by User864056 |
A cell phone was turned on in my name without my permission. When I called Boost Mobile customer service I was told that the phone was indeed in my name, after I told them I did not authorize this I asked them to turn it off. I was told there was nothing they could do since I did not know the PIN number for the account. Well of course I don't know it I DID NOT set up the account. I contacted the police and Boost refused to release any information regarding the account except to verify it was in my name. If this person conducts illegal activity on this phone it is in my name, the phone remains on ILLEGALLY and Boost Mobile could careless. Apparently they support illegal activity and identity theft. Who knows how many phones they have turned on without someones permission. I hope I can sue them, their customer service department also refused to give me any documentation and hung up on me.

I wish that I had read these posts before I did business with Boost. Then I would have $411 more bucks in my pocket and fewer grey hairs. My husband and I went to BestBuy and purchased 3 Boost Mobile phones for Christmas presents ($75x3) and paid the 1st month's fee at the same time, in-store, ($50x3) at a total cost of over $411.00 USD after taxes, fees, etc. We brought them home and noticed that the internet did not work on any of the phones, even though we paid, in full, for the free talk, free text and free internet monthly service. When we called Boost's Customer Service number we were given the runaround by over a dozen Boost representatives, literally. We were given several excuses as to why the internet service that we had already paid for did not work. We were told that we needed to wait 24 to 48, to 72 hours. Even after 3 days (72 hrs) of waiting, the internet never functioned on our BoostMobile phones. In addition, we noticed several sexually explicit pornographic links on the phones' programs, including links like these, to name a few: "Playboy Winter Fest", "Sexy Santa Diana", "Two Sexy Erotic Babes", "Big Rack Popping Out", "Bootie Thong Seduction", "Eurobabe Topless in Position", "Fine Ass Sarah Underwood", "Lexy, Sexy Collage Co Eds", and many others. And those are exact quotated links on the Boost Mobile Wallpaper, "What's Hot", "Just Added", and Web main pages on the phones, which incidentally were purchased as Christmas presents for our 13 year old and 9 year old daughters!
When we communicated these concerns to BoostMobile, we were literally laughed at by some "customer Service representatives". When we asked for our $411 USD back in exchange for the phones, we were told "No." Also, one technician encouraged us to subscribe to the smut at a cost of $6.99 per wallpaper link and 9.99 per chat link with "hot babes", "Hookt Hot Singles", and other links, and then unsubscribe after paying the non-refundable charges. He stated that this should remove some of the pornography from our phones. He actually told us to do the exact thing that we were trying to avoid. When the reps did not like our protests, they all (but two) disconnected the calls, refusing to deal with us and our needs. There's more, but after dealing with Boost, I'm far too stressed and frustrated to keep writing. If you or someone you know, could please help us to rectify this situation, it would be greatly appreciated |
