BMG contacted a collections agency in Niagara Falls to harrass me in collecting a bill that I had never received. I asked the agency for BMG's contact info. They had none, only a vague email address with no contact name. When I contacted BMG, they told me I owed them money from 2 years ago. I had never bought anything from this company, nor had I ever received any kind of bill that they claimed they sent me. I tried to follow up by email continually asking for a personal number so that I might clear this mess up with someone directly. They continued to send me general form letters with no phone numbers or information of representatives with full names. The collection agency has threated to send this information to the credit bureau to taint my credit for 7 years. Unbelievable scam going on. I now found out that BMG closed its services. They are now run by . BMG has no location anymore, no offices, no direct internet address beyond yourmusic. It's often the case that these old companies have so much debt that they buy address lists from others and try to steal money. I am refusing this one, and since they cannot show proof of ever sending a bill to my home address, I know I have rights. The next step is getting a lawyer.
