Ok sorry in advance for any typos im writing this report since I don't have a computer atm. To start off im a 17 year old who just graduated from high school. I loved old cars all my life and I've only owned old cars. My first one was a 1977 camaro black and yellow like the transformers. After selling that camaro I bought a 1986 iroc with a 305. After a month I began restoration from pulling the 305 to audio than paint andthan on the the motor. I searched the web and came upon blueprint engines they had a 383 budget stomped for 4,000$ for a senior with a part time job it was a big investment. I bought the motor and it was shipped to a shop called "ricks rod shop" awesome company mainly works on 50k+ drag cars, they do the best work in my area. After the motor being in the car for a week we found metal shavings in the oil pan and oil filter....to any mechanic this only means trouble. Also there was a noise coming from the motor after about 5 min of warm up each time. I than contacted blueprint told them the situation, sent photos, and did everything as requested they told ms to pull the motor. Rocks rods than went and removed the motor and shippeit to them. They than said they tore it apart and it would cost me 1,300$ because they found nothing wrong and since there was nothing wrong it would cost me 1300 to rebuild it. I having invested all the money I had I opted out because me any shop that it was to fishy they found nothing wrong and told them to send it back to me. After paying 130$+ to ship it back we received it in a half crate with plastic on most of it which gave me a dented valve cover! Complete disregard for my motor. After looking at the motor we were shocked to fnd the gasket seal for the intake manifold wanever broken!! And any mechanic knows to get to the heads and the other motor internals you must remove the intake manifold and the seal wasn't broken. I than called blueprint and asked " what's your policy on a motor that you guys tore apart ablnd sent back to me, do you put new gaskets on?" She replied no we don't that's apart of the 1300$ I said that's funny my seal was never broken she than like all the politicians went around the question. I have photos of this info I will be posting with it. I told my shop to tear the motor apart andallready they've found bad cam bearings, and main bearings. I instantly called blueprint back and spoke to the upervisor ken(he has no respect for customers and smirked through the whole conversation). I than told him about the bad parts and he said "well I offered to sell you new bearings" ani said "why would I buy any part for a motor that was saposidovely perfect". And I said than how are these parts turning up damaged? And he replied oh since u optedout of us rebuilding it our guys who built it probobly just threw the parts in. Wow was I shocked to hear that response. Now im stuck paying to pull and install a motor twice, now blueprint voided my warranty(not that it did anything on this claim it probobly wouldn't help on a different one) and buying new bearings and more parts that we haven't got to yet. I have had the worst experience that I have ever had from any company. Im a 17 year old kid who's allready spent 4,000$ with there company and they lost a client they could of had for life. Please do yourself a favor and don't buy a motor from them if you do cross your fingers its perfect because if not your going to get screwed over and lied to. And to blueprint this is not over. |
