We were traveling through Albuquerque and my wife went here to get our brakes looked at while I was at a another job. She had her ipod in the glove compartment connected to the stereo when they took in the vehicle for repair. When she got the car back she noticed that the stereo input had been changed from the ipod to the radio. She thought nothing of it until about an hour later when she tried to change the input back to the stereo and then looked in the glove compartment to see that the ipod was gone. We immediately went back to the location where they told her that they would look at the surveillance tapes 3 days later and to call the owner, John, on Tuesday (it was currently Saturday) but other than that there was nothing they could do. I went in to get there attention and was obviously more upset since they had stolen from us and were now trying to blow my wife off. I first spoke with the head mechanic who was very helpful and understanding to why I was so upset. He explained that only two people had driven the vehicle and they would definitely be willing to take care of the situation. During this exchange the manager, Ken Wessell, stormed in and said he had just gotten off the phone with the owner and inappropriately told me "If you can prove it we might do something for you". He continued to verbally attack me claiming "You came in here with an attitude, now I've got one too". I apologized again for my demeanor but said it was justified due to the circumstances. That didn't stop him. He continued to be verbally abusive, cursing me every chance he got. He told me I had to be patient and wait three days, even though they had blatantly stolen from me earlier in the day. At one point he said "We need to call the cops". To which I replied "Fine, lets call them". "I'm not calling the fucking cops, you call them." he replied. What??!!?? He purposed pushed me to the boiling point until I stormed out (on my own) and called the cops. When the police officer arrived Ken Wessell claimed that he asked me to leave several times and that I had been escorted out. A blatant lie that could be proven as so by looking at the aforementioned surveillance tapes. I was never asked to leave and when I did so it was willingly and on my own. The officer said "I should be arresting me on criminal trespassing charges but wouldn't do so due to your calm demeanor", but more likely due to the fact that he can't arrest anyone based on hearsay especially when there is physical evidence proving Wessell's claim as false. The officer asked to see the surveillance tapes and all of a sudden they were readily available. The officer looked at the tapes from inside the garage, but not outside of the store. (Whoever took the ipod obviously had the sense not to take it in front of other empoyees, duh!). He then told us there was nothing else we could do but call on Tuesday and talk to the owner, John. My wife called Tuesday to speak with John and was immediately attacked. He told her our "car was dirty (another false claim) and that she probably just lost it in the filth." He was unflinchingly rude to her and told her that he would not look at the tapes from the outside of the store. He also implied that "he knows how women are" and that "they lose things" and that she was a liar for trying to place the blame on them. Even if the car was dirty, which it wasn't, what were they doing looking in the glove compartment anyway? They were supposed to be servicing the brakes. These two humans (not men) are obviously low-class self-loathing individuals who hire like-minded thieves. Please stay away from this business as they will loot your vehicle and try to place the blame on you.
