In November 2010, I entered into a contractual agreement with Better Auto Service Inc to purchase a 1999 Ford Expedition. While driving the car home, I noticed a loud rattle coming from under the SUV. I went back the salesman and informed him that the car was giving me problems. The salesman cut me off in mid-sentence and said "My job is done, I only sell cars. Talk to the service manager." I took my concerns to the "service manager" and he told me to bring the SUV back and leave it over the weekend. He assured me the problem would be fixed. When I came in that Monday, the SUV had not been repaired. The "service manager" told me they "did not have time" to get to my SUV and I needed to bring it back. I asked when, he said "next week is better." I took the car back and left it for a day. I also advised him that the SUV was now shutting off and I didn't know why. Again, I was given the "assurance" that the repairs would be made to my SUV and again it was a lie. When I came back, there were no repairs made. In fact, the SUV was parked in the same spot I left it. This went on for three months. Finally, I got the service manager to agree to allow me to have the fuel pump replaced at my cost. He agreed and I received partial reimbursement. The suspension on the SUV was also in need of repair but the owner balked at me having it repaired because he said the repair estimates I provided were "too high." I asked them to recommend a place that could make the repairs for less and "NO ONE COULD PROVIDE THE NAME OF A REPAIR SERVICE" to come in under the repair estimates I provided. The final result; I ended up buying the parts for the suspension and they installed them. This time, I was not reimbursed. The warranty issued to me was worthless. In February 2011, I paid off the SUV in full. In March 2011, I went in to inquire about the title to my SUV. The office assistant was "surprised" that I did not have it in my possession already. She told me to come back in two weeks and they should have it. Two weeks has turned into four (4) months. I have gone in three (3) additional times to inquire about my title and each time I have been given a different story as to why I don't have a title. As of this posting, I have not received title to my SUV. My advice to anyone looking for transportation is to stay away from this place. This is not a dream team but a "Scheme Team." This by far is the worse car buying experience I have ever had in my life. Those with similar experiences from this car dealer should complain to proper authorities. I will follow-up on this posting to advise consumers of the final outcome. |
