I have been a victim of Beneficial since 2004. They have used any dirty tactic to charge late fees and claim they didn't receive my payments,anything to charge more. First of all, their appraiser reported a very high appraisal and I don't think the place is worth it compared to other homes.
My ex-husband was disabled at the time and although I made decent money, our payments were 916.00. Plus we had to pay taxes and insurance seperately. We had 4 minors in the house and we often had to use credit cards to make payments.In 2005, we got a divorce,but before that we declared bankruptcy. I opted to keep the house as I would have the kids.
I never got a payment reduction and they wouldn't help me. Then they would say they didn't receive my payment or I should have sent it to Carol Stream IL, where it is a nightmare trying to get help as someone new always answers and the person you talked to before is not there. You ask for the agreement in writing but never receive it. I was not getting any credit for payments, so I wrote the attorney general and the BBB. I am in foreclosure now and I am trying to fight them.I don't want to lose my house, but I can't with any sense of of right and wrong send payments I will never get credit for. Wish me luck and help me We have to fight back or they will keep doing it.
