I believe Bell Rd Toyota practices unethical behavior. They were aware they sold me a 2004 Mazda RX8 that was potentially unsafe. There were no front brakes, bad rear brakes, and needed major front end wheel repairs. The salesman only allowed the test drive around the block at 25 mi which reveals there was no A/C. Toyota agreed to order & install a condenser. The poor condition of front end & no brakes was discovered during the dangerous 20 mi drive after purchase. The car was returned and Toyota agreed to complete all repairs when A/C done. After several days in the service center the car was returned with partial repairs. The car was returned 4 times during the first 30 days and in their shop about 20 days, each time I was given a rental to use. To date the rear brakes are still in poor condition, the bearings and upper arms were only partially repaired. While in the shop someone banged on the top of the car and put several dents around the door. Then an alignment was done that only made it worse. The car jerks all over the road when braking, grinds & screeches loudly. The service Managers claims the repairs are completed as best as possible! The Mazda Service Center inspected the car, and feels since it is a high performance vehicle it is unsafe to drive without these repairs. During the 3rd visit to the repair center, while I was in the customer area, waiting for my car and keys to be brought to me. A service person unlocked the rental, stole my wallet, license, credit cards, SS card, a diamond birthstone ring (to be sized) and some important papers from inside the car, then put my laundry and groceries that were in the trunk on the ground. He then took the rental to be serviced and re-rented to another customer. A police report was filed. Bell Rd Toyota accepts no responsibility for the theft or my loss, despite the fact that I had not officially turned in the rental since I did not have my car yet. I have called repeatively, spoken to the Cust. Serv Mgr, who claims he knows nothing, attempted to contact the GM, who refuses my calls, and filed every complaint available. I have never experienced anything so horrible, and have lost time from work, had to replace all Id, CC, etc, am responsible for the replacement of my nieces ring, and have major repair expenses. I feel Bell Rd Toyota is the worst example of Toyota in America. They sold me a lemon then stole my identity and personal belongings, and business just it's as usual. |
