Barclay Card US Upromise Rewards Master Card Inaccurate Web accounting Wilmington, Delaware
11th of Feb, 2013 by User762657
Barclaycard's internet interface is misleading and inaccurate, and the company hasn't responded to requests for explanation. In their account summary, the balance due and remaining credit do not add up to the stated line of credit. Balance due plus remaining credit adds up to an amount about $1000 less than the stated line of credit. This makes it impossible to know your true line of credit (this was not included in the paper mailing, either) and much easier to inadvertently exceed the line of credit, incurring fees and bad marks on a credit report. When an electronic payment is made, the date of payment defaults to the due date. Payments take about 2-3 days to be processed, so this means that your payment date will default to a date which is past due, incurring fees and bad marks on a credit report. I have used 2 other credit card online payment systems and neither had these issues. I believe that these online issues are bad business practices that most likely add up to something just short of fraud, but BUYER BEWARE. I will be closing this card.
