Auto Service Warranty
Auto Service Warranty, inc. Auto Service Enterprise, LLC Bought Warranty, soon cancelled, never got money back Parma Heights, Ohio
8th of May, 2011 by User287711
Bought an extended warranty through auto service warranty on February 15, 2011. Filed a claim 6 weeks later, they didn't cover the claim because they considered the issue abuse (no abuse occurred). Decided since I was going to end up fixing everything myself I cancelled it on April 4,2011. Cancellation was verified and I was told it would be up to 3 weeks before I got my money back. 3 weeks came and no money.
Called and their phone was disconnected, nobody responded to a fax or emails and supposedly another company (endurance) bought the website and has no affiliation with auto service warranty. I have not collected anything. In total, I paid $2,485 for a warranty that I had for a short period of time. I was promised $2,385 back after a cancellation fee and again, received nothing.
I have filed as many places as I can, Attorney generals office for both Ohio and the state I live in and I have claimed a dispute through the credit card I paid in full for the warranty. I am not sure where else to turn, I will just have to come to terms with not having this money or a warranty.

I also purchased an exteneded warranty Feburaury 5, 2011. I called this morning to file a claim and the number I called gave a recorded message stating the company was no longer in business (want to talk about a slap in the face).

I then called and spoke with someone with Endurance and received same response; they have only bought the rights to the website and are in no way affilated with Service Warranty, Inc.

I didn't purchase the $2, 485 warranty but I did purchase one close to the same amount. I have yet to begin my research on this ordeal but have contacted my attorney. I have not received a letter or any type of "formal" explanation informing me of whats going on with this company.

I am blessed that I live in a state with "good" people and was able to get my door fixed and was not charged.

I am a single parent with two children, if I had extra money to just throw around, it sure in the world wouldn't have been given to a shady company but spent on clothing and feeding my children!!!

What goes around comes around... !!!

I'm in the same boat. My warranty was close to $3000. I'm in month 16 of 60. I've never made a claim but I at least want a prorated amount back giving them the benefit of the doubt that I had coverage over the 16 months they were in the warranty business. Hind sight, always being 20-20, I think these warranties, whether to company is good or bad, is just not worth the payout. I once read that you are better off putting the cost of the warranty into a savings account and over the life of the term withdraw as needed for repairs and you will most likely have money left. Given the fine print on these deals, so much is NOT covered anyways.
If you service your car regularly with oil and regular maintenance, the only thing that will fail will most likely be a wear item, that no warranty will cover.
I hope enough of us get together for a class action suit. I doubt we will get any money back but atleast make
life on these people very hard that they have no chance doing this again.
If the website was sold to Endurance, and other assets have been sold, this needs to go back to customers they have abandoned. I'll take a buck if I know they have zero. What a shame that people are allowed to have a business like this and are not regulated to be re-insured.
I used to just hate the Buckeyes, now I hate the whole dang state!!

I ALSO GOT RIPPED OF FROM AUTO SERVICE WARRANTY, INC PARMA HEIGHTS, OHIO. GOT A WARRANT FROM THEM IN 2009 PAID$ 2585 FOR IT NEVER HAD TO USE IT TILL YESTERDAY AND FOUND THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINESS . I AM 75 YRS OLD AND TALKED TO THE OWNER, BUT CANT FIND HIS NAME NOW WISH I COULD. I WAS WOORIED WHEN I GOT IF MY LOCAL CHEV DEALER WOULD TAKE IT. HE EVEN CALLED THE OWNER OF THE CHEV DEALER AND THEY AGREED TO TAKE IF I EVER NEED IT.
I CANT AFFORD ANOTHER ONE AND I HOPE WE CAN GET OUR MONEY BACK, BUT WONT BET ON IT.
HOW DOES THE STATE OF OHIO LET THEM GET BY WITH THIS . THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN BONDED I WOULD THINK. I HATE TO LOOSE MONEY LIKE THIS AS I AM SURE ALL YOU FOLKS WOULD ALSO.

this makes my stomach turn; same thing happened to me; paid about $2800, never used it; had a problem yesterday, called, only to find they are out of business. i agree, if they sold to "endurance" that means they got money; they should not be able to do that, and leave us all hanging!! i will call bbb, ftc, atty. gen, everyone to make a complaint! let's do something!!!

Same problem, but I remember they claimed to be backed by an AAA+ insurance company. Does anyone have that information printed out or know the name of the insurance company? If that was false advertising then that is criminal fraud, not just poor business practise.

I also bought a warranty from them. I had a slightly different experience, in that since 2009, when the warranty was purchased, i actually had 2 claims, that were paid in full, one for 500$ and one for 1600$ for a cracked oil line, they even reimbursed me for my rental car..this was in January 2011 or December 2010., so, i actually almost broke even on mine, but, still have 3 years and 30K miles left and also a single mother of two 4 year olds...I tried to file a claim again this past weekend and noone can find them.

I did find some information about them from some contacts. Here it all is, and if anyone on this list has any type of legal knowhow or contacts, please forward this on.

They are actually called Auto Services Enterprises, LLC., Duns # 181816765, Owners: David and Jacqueline Caravana and Mgr named Alfred Canitia.
