Auto Owners Insurance Dr. Steven Gross Insurance adjuster pays off Dr to provide false medical reports. Lansing, Michigan |

I was involved in an auto accident 3 years ago that caused my c3 and c4 vertebrae to rupture. This was proven with an MRI at the time. Auto Owners Insurance has been responsible for my medical coverage. I was informed last month that I had to see an "independent" doctor hired by the insurance company to evaluate my condition. My primary doctor scheduled me for a new MRI that shows Degenerative Disk Disease of the c3 and c4 vertebrae. Doctor Steven Gross, the "independent" doctor ignored all proof that my injuries were caused by the accident and provided the insurance company with a false report claiming that my injuries were pre-existing before I was hit head on in order to allow the insurance company to suspend my coverage. I have been living in extreme pain for three years, am unable to work without continued medical treatment. I have been to numerous doctors in the past three years, all of which have concluded that my injuries could of only been a result of the car accident. Dr. Gross has provided no proof besides his "professional" opinion that my injuries could of been caused prior to my accident. He refused to even look at my current MRI when I saw him, he performed no tests, and lied numerous times in his report. It is obvious that he puts the income he is provided by insurance companies to help them refuse legitimate claims ahead of the well being and health of the patients the insurance companies pay him to see. My claim adjuster at Auto Owners, Michelle Smith, is the one who ordered me to have this evaluation which are illegal in most states. The doctors are paid very well by the insurance companies and it is they're only source of income. They only care about money. If they do not report in favor of the insurance company they would have no business. Proof is meaningless to the doctor or insurance company. All they want is a report that says any injuries or health problems someone has is not related to the accident so they can drop the claim. They set it up to make it almost impossible to dispute so they dont even try to prove the lies in the reports. Insurance companies do not care, they're goal is o deny every claim they get. I am truly disgusted to see that there are doctors willing to throw they're ethics out the window and allow money to be more of a priority then patient health. I am filing formal complaints with the state against Dr. Gross and the company he works for, Evaluations Plus, who practically advertise that they will do anything for insurance companies right on they're website. |
