The representative I spoke to made it seem as though everything was taken care of. Logging in to my account on the AT&T website has even shown "Military Suspension" since then.

However, I was still billed the next month and themonths following.Contacting AT&T is very painful; they claim to have no e-mail address, and insist that you use the links on their website to contact them.Being that I am in Iraq, the internet quality is poor, and the website fails to load properly the vast majority of the time.

I replied to every e-mail I received from AT&T updating me on my bill, but received a response only a fraction of the time. Phones are shared here, so their use is limited, and I can rarely get in touch with a representative before my time runs out.

Every time I have managed to contact someone, they make it seem as though the whole problem has been resolved. I even had one month refunded, only to be charged again the very next month!

I recently received a message saying my account had been credited for the amounts. I informed them that the money must be returned to me, because I had no intention of paying toward my account early, and the charges to my checking account were totally unauthorized. My account expires in February of this year. They offered to send me a check, which is impossible to cash in Iraq. I insisted they return my money to me, but it seems ignoring me altogether is preferable. I can only imagine that they will send a check to my home address once my account expires, and the check will in turn expire before I am able to redeploy back to the United States.
