Beware of Arnott Industries in Cape Canaveral Florida. They sold me 2 air bag springs for the rear suspension of my Lincoln Town Car that failed within days of installation, causing me embarasment, being late for an appointment, & the cost of a flatbed tow to my shop. I replaced the original bags because of the rubber starting to dry rot. No other issues with the air bag springs. I replaced the bags with the ones I ordered from Arnott. The ordering proccess and delivery was fine as before. I have used them and refered them multiple times through the years. This time was the worst experience with them. I was driving my Lincoln Town Car down I-95 taking two of my friends to the airport when I heard a loud explosion sound, I thought it was a tire. I stopped and found it to be the air bag came out of the car causing damage to my car. I called Arnott and they said it is most likely a bad install, but they will send me another bag at cost till they can check the deffective bag out to see what the failure was. At that time after I was towed back to the shop I reinstalled my old bags which I still had and did not dispose of them. Long story short, this happened three more times to me after buying a total of 4 bags, I ended up purchasing new bags from our Lincoln Dealer and no problems over two months now. Amazing I guess after all of that experience putting there JUNK BAGS & my old one's back so many times I am an expert now. A little about me: ASE Certified Master Tech, I have owned my own business since I was 19 yo Thats 24 years experience. So that being said I am still out for three out of the 4 bags that I purchased. They did credit me for the bag they sold at cost. They also played games when I sent back the bags. I sent a bad one in one box that they credited me on. The other three, two bad and one good. They claim not to have a record of the three in the one box, and I needed to have a seperate RMA # for each bag. They credited me for the one bad one not the others?? The weight of the boxes don't lie. They still claim improper install. Any tech out there knows they can change an air bag quicker than a flat tire. Beware, this mistake cost me hundreds out of pocket, from tow jobs to bumper damage, & exhaust damage, and they can't even do the right thing and refund my money for the defective junk bags they sell. |

I had a problem with them with a compressor that is mounted on the trunk floor area after the left rear wheel well. This is exposed to weather. The original lasted 10 years, there compressor lasted 3 months. They did the right thing but took alot of phone calls to get a refund. They claimed it was exposed to water?? Maybe they should sell a compressor that is sealed better?? We will see what happens next failure. |

Sorry to hear that. I've never had a problem with Arnott myself but I have issues with other air suspension vendors. I'd say we've done six installs in the last year and one was even on an old towncar limo using Arnott's heavy duty air springs. I even sell them old cores ($50 each). What you write sounds like a bad compressor but you say the original stuff worked. I do know that a good soapy spray is your best friend in the air suspension world. Spray it on to test the old stuff before buying and then use it to test the new installation. I suspect you would have seen bubbles coming from somewhere. If you ever do see them - take a picture and send that back with your RMA. |
