Armando Montelongo Seminars big scam….We went to their free seminar for a high pressure sell that was supposedly guaranteed for 1 year. We put $500.00 down for their 3 day seminar; you had to put 500.00 down to receive his books & tapes. These were a joke, there was no useable information in his books & the cd’s were a copy of the empty books. All they contained were promises to learn more, with nothing to learn. This was a complete joke. Then I researched and learned his 3 days turned into you want this and bla bla bla..Wish I would have done the research first. As stated earlier we were told that we had 1 year to get our money back, after reading the small print on the purchase agreement that we ignorantly signed said we only had 3 business days. Needless to say we called first thing Monday morning our second business day and cancelled. They said nothing about returning materials, nothing, just stated that it was not a problem. Chris from Armando Montelongo Seminars called us back 2 days later and told us that there would be no problem getting our refund just send back all the material & he would issue a refund. Well that was in July 2011, here I sit Jan. 4, 2012 with no refund. I disputed this on my Capital One card; we fought for a refund for 6 months when they said there was nothing else they could do. Capital One went as far as a 3 way call with Armando Montelongo Seminars, first we talked to Irene which confirmed my cancellation in a timely manner. Then we were transferred to Oscar who confirmed material was returned but, that he was not going to honor the refund because they did not receive my cancellation in writing within 3 business days. He acknowledged the fact that I called in time and cancelled, that I returned the merchandise as requested but since it was not in writing that he legally had the right to keep my money and that was exactly what he was going to do. The representative from Capital One was appalled at the man’s lack of honor, that he didn’t care about anything but that I didn’t put it in writing. We asked him to let us talk to Chris, the person that told us we could receive our refund, he told us it would do no good then finally put us through, and we received his voicemail. He never did return my calls. This company is a straight up scam and they don’t even care if you know it. All phone calls with credit card companies are recorded and this company straight up ripped me off with a technicality. The representative that helped me said “Debbie it probably wouldn’t have mattered if you had put it in writing, they would have lost the envelope and claimed they didn’t receive it in time, unless you would have sent it certified, signature required , you weren’t gonna stand a chance getting your money back. I’ve been doing this for years and these people straight out just want your money. They always have a couple big guys at the doors to keep the last people they ripped off from interfering right? I said yes there was. Yep I’m sorry Debbie, these people have no scruples and you will have to chalk this up to lesson learned.†I plan on telling anyone that will listen about this dishonest guy, do the research I should have done b4 going, I wouldn’t have gone. Armando Montelongo Seminars is a scam, nothing but double talk and as you’ll learn from research always asking for more money and his little loopholes will allow him to keep it. The arrogance of this company shows that they need to be put in check. but this did us no good. |
