APP-ID.COM JIN WEN PING ELABORATE FAKE ID SITE OFFERS ENTICING SCAM HAI KOU CITY Internet |
26th of Sep, 2011 by User833312 |
I originally arrived at app-id.com through its positive reviews on underground-review.com (a site I believe they operate as well). I am 22 but my girlfriend is 20 and I wanted to get her a fake driver's license so we could go to bars and clubs together. The site sold fake IDs for any state for $100 with free standard shipping included. Throw in the "Fall Special" of two IDs for the price of one, and I was sold. So, like an idiot, I followed the instructions and mailed $140 in cash to the address provided ($100 for two IDs plus $40 for rush shipping). The site seemed so well designed, with pictures of the "products," customer reviews, and detailed instructions on their policies and procedures. The idea of mailing cash to a foreign country made me uneasy, but given the illicit nature of their business it made sense to me. I wouldn't want something like that on my credit card anyway. I have seen plenty of scams on the internet and have never fallen for any of them but this one got me. BE WARNED, THIS SITE LOOKS VERY REAL. THEY ARE EXTREMELY GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO: RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!! Once I placed my order, I received the following e-mail: Hello [REDACTED], This is your customer number for the order you just submitted to us: [REDACTED] Please make absolutely sure you write the customer number above on a piece of paper and include it with your payment. When doing a group order write all of your groups invoice numbers on a piece of paper and include it with your discounted payment. Please mail your payment and invoice number(s) to our office address: JIN WEN PING STREET ADDRESS: ROOM 1601, FLAT J, QIONG YUAN SQUARE , BAI LONG SOUTH ROAD 40 CITY: HAI KOU CITY PROVINCE: HAI NAN PROVINCE COUNTRY: CHINA. POST CODE : 570203 If you are in the USA and paying by international money order or cashier check please make sure it is payable to our funds manager: LIU HONG JUN It is critical to mail your payment with online tracking. Untraceable mail Customs in China routinely open it, they have time to set it aside, inspect it at their leisure, and they will take the cash. We have zero issue with online trackable mail and will make the order for free if a customer ever has an issue. US customers mailing with USPS only mail your payment by "Express Mail International" or "Global Express Guaranteed". Check your tracking before you leave USPS, if it starts with "LC", it will NOT arrive and is no better than normal mail. Do not allow them to mail it this way! 898-66286212 (Our phone # which may be required to send express mail by some shippers) AFTER you have mailed payment please confirm here: http://app-id.com/confirm.html Orders not confirmed mailed via the link above will be deleted in 48 hours. List the contents as "Documents" on the customs form and please never say you are mailing cash. Inside of the envelope include your payment and customer invoice number(s) nothing else please. Also, you may want to review our private template page www.app-id.com/ptp.html to see our finished products up close. Know that you absolutely made the best choice online with app-id.com. Sincerely, Eric Lee Customer Service Manager www.app-id.com This e-mail was the last correspondence I ever had with them. I followed all the directions including mailing my payment and confirming it via the link. I checked the USPS website about a week later which confirmed that my money had arrived. They claimed that they would e-mail a proof of my product once payment was received, but that never happened. I have e-mailed them literally hundreds of times since, but with no response. It has been several months now, and I know I will not get my money back. I only hope that you don't make the same mistake I did. App-id.com or any other website that asks you to send money to the address above IS A SCAM!!!

Add my name to the people that were duped by a very nice web site and he also runs the Novelty ID site that recommends his service. He runs numerous sites under different names and rates his own scam! Do not send him money!!!

These Chinese bastards are very good as I was also scammed by these people, I wish there were a way to shut them down or at least let other people know about their tactics. The website really looks legit and they try and make you comfortable with their protected status in China. I feel so stupid to fall for this trick. |
