Amrican Recruiting Associates Company Preys on people desperate for employment Boca Raton, Florida |

I read a report another person filed regarding this company. They, as I did, received an email stating they would like to set up and online interview and you could choose one of two dates and times. They state they are a national company that is established and in CNN Money News, etc. The email states they are hiring for Recruiting Professionals. If you've received the email, you know what it says. Well, I had lost my job and was getting pretty...desperate...to find employment. I would never even bother with this type of thing, but I was willing to check it out. I made the "online interview" appointment and attended when scheduled. There was a guy in the corner, supposedly on a web cam explaining the company, how it works, how you make money, how much money you make, all the good stuff. Then at the end he explains how other recruiting companies charge much more and lays the bomb on you about how much they cost. Well on the left side there is a "live chat" happening with what is suppose to be hundreds of others interested in the job too. The man in the chat window starts to read of names of the people that are joining the 'team' and thanking them. A LOT of people asked questions about paying for the service, where does the money go, how soon do you get paid, etc. All normal questions, the man seemed to be answering some of them, but he didn't answer anything specifically. I asked about 5 questions, he did answer 3 of them. I asked why he wasn't addressing me like the others, I asked how soon we get paid once an applicant is hired, he answered, "Within 30 days for the first one, after that it's not so long" and how we know when an applicant is hired. That answer was "The company is required to tell us when they hire". So it was all a little vague, it was all about how fast you could sign up and pay before all the positions were taken. That was the shady part. A lot of people on the chat would say no thanks and log off, the people that I guess paid or were set up to look that way were all called out and welcomed to the team. One thing that was odd was he said multiple times that in a minute, he would talk one on one with each of us to better answer any questions. That did NOT happen. As soon as the so-called positions were gone, so was he. And they closed down the chat. So the only way to talk to him is to pay the membership fee and be allowed access to the site to talk to a "trainer". The more I watched it, the more I questioned about it. Now if they or he, had stayed and talked one on one as promised or didn't have the chat on the side showing who paid and who didn't AND kept counting down how many positions were left, maybe I would have bought into it. I was very angry that they went to those lengths to dupe people that really need a good job, have families to support, etc., and get a person's hopes up just to find out it's another scam. Or at least it looked like a scam. I Googled the company and found nothing good. I apologize for the long, long complaint, but if you want to know what it's about or what the interview is suppose to be, now you know and can decide for yourself if you think you want to look into or just look the other way. Either way, good luck! |
