AMP Security Systems Tells Boldface Lies To Sell Security Systems To Residents of Nations Poorest City Orem, Utah |
26th of Jun, 2011 by User824612 |
A gentleman showed up at my door asking if anyone had serviced our alarm system in the past three years. He was from AMP Security Systems. I told him, "no, no one has ever serviced our system." He then asked me to come in so he could explain to me what he was about to offer. He said that he would give me a brand new high tech alarm system for free. All I would have to do is pay a $99 installation fee which would be billed to me. He then said in order for me not be be double billed he would send my previous alarm company a cancellation letter and that I was to do the same. I followed his instructions, repeating to him that I would be billed the $99 fee because I would not be able to pay in one lump sum. I also verified that I would not be double billed because I could also not afford to have that happen. He verified with me that ADT would be paid this month and AMP would be paid next month. That is not what happened. The $99 fee came out of my checking account and I was double billed by ADT and by AMP. When I called AMP to tell them they said it was in my contract that I pay the $99 up front. I also brought up the fact that I was double billed and she also said that it was in my contract that the first payment would be due that same month. I told the woman from Amp on the phone that the salesman and I had a verbal agreement about the billing arrangement and that I had 4 witnesses who would testify to that. She said it did not matter, what matters is the contract and that I had 3 days to cancel it. I was told that I had to fullfil my 60 month contract and if I didn't it would go to collections. The salesman stood there and looked me in the eye, shook my hand and ripped me off. They are in the business to help people from being robbed and ironically they are the thieves. I will accept responsability for trusting a represenative from Amp who totally mis-represented himself. However, they need to accept responsability and be liable for the fact that they are falsely entering into contract with their clients to make a sale. |

Hello sir,
My names Chelsey, I am an online representative for AMP. I would like to know your name so that I can look into your situation and contact the representatives manager so that he is aware of this issue. AMP does not support this type of behavior. Because sometimes it is hard to know what the Sales Representatives say when we are not going to door to door with them, we have the contracts and the two recorded phone calls.
These are to make sure that the customer and AMP are under the same understanding in the agreement.
I would like to look into your case. If you could email me @ [email protected], letting me know your name I would be more than happy to look into this for you, and at the very least make sure the reps manager knows about this situation.
Thank you,
Chelsey |
