American Van Lines There is nothing AMERICAN about these crooks Pompano Beach, Florida
29th of Oct, 2011 by User641471
We hired American Van Lines to move my elderly handicapped mother from Florida to Virginia. Everything with this company seemed like it was going well and legit until it was time for the movers to show up at her house. Let me say this company PROMISES you everything but it is all lies. We had to learn the hard way. Clue # 1 was when they called to confirm they would be at her house between 10 am and noon. We had agreed they were going to be there between 8 & 9 am. Clue # 2 was the truck they brought was 2/3 of the way full and all her possessions wouldn’t fit on the truck. Clue # 3 was they had to bring in a second truck for her “so called overflow”. This is when we started worrying that all isn’t what is seems to be. The first truck load was delivered in a timely manner. The second truck load finally came 7 weeks later. After almost daily phone calls to them. We were lied to so many times by American about delivery dates. They hold your stuff hostage and charge you more to get it back and then when you do get it back after paying the hostage fees most of your items are broken, wet, damaged or just plain missing. We have no idea where her stuff was kept, nor would anyone at American Van Lines tell us. They will never return your call, leave you on hold until you give up on holding and of course the person you really need to speak with is never available. We have filed 3 claims with American Van Lines, the first on 9/19/11 and to date we have yet to hear from them. Whatever you do DO NOT HIRE THESE CROOKS!!! My mistake was not checking this company out until it was too late. Now I am back tracking like hell saying to myself why didn’t you do this before you hired them. Learn from my mistake. I have made it my goal to tell as many people I can about my nightmare with American Van Lines. I have filed complaints with the BBB and DOT. Do yourself a favor don’t hire them and check out the company you plan to hire before you do it. American Van Lines is owned by Aldo & Anthony Disorbo, both have criminal records. It's amazing what you can find out about people today on the internet for free with a little bit of effort. This group is a bunch of crooks that don’t care about you or your stuff. They just want your money and will stop at nothing to get more out of you. They lie, cheat and steal from you. I know, they did it to me.

Clue 1 should have been where they asked for a deposit. Real and honest moving companies don't asl for pay, ent until they deliver and they even keep with the estimate typs not eh overcharges that you were charged
