American Relocation North American Transfer, All State Moving and Storage, Ten Years from Now. Charged me more than triple original cost of binding es |

American Relocation was the company I entered into business with. They provided me with confirmed Binding Estimate (twice for verification). Moving Company delayed pickup until I was forced to be rush to make my flight. Therefore, I was unable to refuse to sign forms such as (waive right for reweigh). North American Transfer was the company doing the pick up of my goods and a gentleman name by Bobby provided me with all the forms and managed the pick up. I signed the forms and on the bill of laden was that I paid $1000 for a deposit. I left and had did not have any other concerns
Later that evening, I received that same bill of laden that was written all over with additional charges of weight. My goods had doubled in weight from the original binding estimate. The moving company representative (Kevin) told me that they did not have to weigh my stuff because i signed the "waive my writes to a reweigh". I asked did they do an initial weigh on a certified scale to prove my weight had doubles. He said "no" because i was being charged a "flat rate". My binding estimate was based on weight. I signed forms that said i would be charged 86 cents per pound over.
The original loader (Bobby) told me my volume was more than my original amount (again not verified by any 3rd party or myself) and that was how they came to charge me 6000lbs of weight. I was originally quoted 3000 lbs of stuff from 4 different moving companies. I felt confident that my goods would not exceed 3000lbs even after i called to confirm with American Relocation sales reps (Mary and Danielle) that my stuff is "without a doubt" under 3000lbs. I occupied a 2 bedroom apt about 1200 sq ft.
The moving company says I must pay or they will hold my stuff hostage and then i will be forced to pay additional storage fees.
It has now been 3 weeks since my goods have been picked up and every time I call to get an estimated delivery date, they change my days. I will be spending Christmas in an empty apt. The moving company said they will deliver on Christmas and therefore if i am not present if they movers come to deliver, i will be charged additional storage as well.
